Swizz Beatz Pays Mashonda $334,000 to Avoid Upcoming Court Date

Record-producing phenom Swizz Beatz is certainly making headlines these days. Beatz seems to be a permanent fixture in the blogosphere since his divorce proceedings began last year, and now because his girlfriend, R&B mega-sensation Alicia Keys, is pregnant.

The 31-year-old hit maker had an upcoming June 10th court date in New York City to settle a delinquent child support and alimony debt of $334,000. Now, the soon-to-be Mr. Keys has decided to settle out-of-court with his ex, Mashonda Dean.



Reportedly, Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, has admitted publicly that he agreed to pay Dean a higher equitable distribution than the judge stipulated.

Beatz even had to sign court papers, acknowledging that he was going against his attorney's advice. Mashonda and Beatz recently got their drawn-out divorce finalized this past May.

Beatz told the New York Post a couple of weeks ago, "I gave over what the judge was recommending to give. I gave Mashonda $700,000 upfront, because I thought $200,000 wasn't enough for what she wanted to do. I still get spit in my face for it."

Meanwhile Beatz and his 'Empire State of Mind' beauty are expecting their first child and plan to tie the knot later this year.
