The Arizona anti-immigration law has been beset by boycotts and demonstrations, yet a new poll suggests more Americans may want one just like it for their state.
According to a new Quinnipiac University poll, 48 percent want their state to pass an Arizona-style immigration law.
The Arizona immigration law has emerged as a major divide in the country, but the numbers are on the side of those supporting it," said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.
"The strong plurality who say they would like a similar law in their own state probably portends the law will be an issue in many, many campaigns this November across the country."
However, according to the same poll, 45 percent feel that the Arizona law will lead to discrimination against Hispanics.
The issue is clearly divided among gender and race, too, the poll shows.

Glad to see BV admit that the public is on MY side, not yours. The same is true of throwing the Democrats and Obama out of office.

Wilson you should think about the whole issue before coming to a decission, The fact of the matter is, There is not to many people will work those jobs the immgrants are working, not because they are lazy but simply because they just don't pay enough to be able to live here in america. You are talking about rent food clothing insurance auto and everything else. You can't say well get another job because these jobs require you to be there all day and are very labor intense. I agree we need to do something but if we act to quick and do the wrong thing, then you watch how just the basic things needed to survive are going to be priced out of reach for most people and when people get desprate they break the law. Not trying to scare you but that's what the AZ law is going to bring to this country. A BUNCH OF PEOPLE FEELING HOPELESSNESS. And man those are dangerous people.

I wish louisiana get a law. Someone has to do something about the illegal immigrants coming here. The illegals complaint about the laws, but when they commit a law they run back to their countries. Yeah we all need that law because the borders are not working!

I am not surprised that more and more states in america want this same law, the elected government pass and present didn't have the guts collectively to sort it out, sometimes the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing, when you see crime and violence increasing and you think how come they are so many immigrants and hardly any can speak english, drugs increasing, look at sin city in the lousinanna who have seen an explosion of violence with un-documented workers, sorry but President Obama this is no longer about 2012 this immigration situation is serious, look at mexico that country is in melt-down and the us government is spending more money there than in iraq and afganisation and on it's own citizens it needs to be sorted the debating is over.

This Passage in the Bible thou it speaks of Jerusalem it might at as well be Lousianna Jeremaih 5: 6-7; This city must be punished it is filled with oppression as a well pours out its water, so she pours out her wickedness. Violence and destruction resound in her; her sickness and wounds are before me.
What is pouring in the gulf of mexico know? Oil let me know if this is not true of mexico and the golf area and the state of lousianna today, isn't it known as the sin city?

One way to know if you are on track is to see how many lies are perpretrated by the opposition. If you are in the country legally of course you will have proof . over and over its been documented the only way law enforcement will ask for ID is if you commit a crime, the police are not riding around looking for something to do believe me.
we are invaded and if it wasnt profitable for the illegals to be here they wouldd have been out a long time ago

I hope everyone knows what is the real problem . why do the hispanic community think they are entitled to rights and priviledges they have not earned? let alone deserve? Because they have been told this by the same people who make money by them being here. Imagine if employers did not have to include FICA type money to your paycheck .what is called working under the table, most if not all illegals work under the table. since they dont have social security cards they dont pay income tax . That is a whole lot of money, now throw in the money for drugs and guns and free trade and you can get support for Osama to be pardoned . Also the illegals have no intentions on ever being productive citizens . I see some that have been heree for 30 plus years and still do not speak english and never filed a tax return. why should they?
This law is a threat to the criminals on both side of the border.
