Joe Jackson Blames Wife Katherine for Michael's Untimely Death

As the first anniversary of the death of mega-pop star Michael Jackson approaches, drama still swirls around his family. In a new interview with the British newspaper News of the World, Jackson patriarch, Joe, blames his estranged wife, Katherine, for the untimely demise of their son.

The 80-year-old Joe says that he begged his wife to go and see their son, because he was looking "thin and weak." Joe thought that since Michael had always looked up to his mom, her visit would have cheered him up:

"I had begged her to go over and stay with him, but she insisted he needed his privacy and gave him the slack she thought he needed. A child will listen to his mother more than his father -- and Michael was a mommy's boy. He listened to her. I still haven't been able to talk about it to her, as she doesn't want to hear what I have to say," he reveals.

The grieving dad, who admits that he still hasn't gotten over Michael's death, also claims that he and Katherine argued several times over the matter and that she stuck to her guns, opting not to visit their ailing son.

Joe's prophetic comments to his wife supposedly came to fruition when Michael passed away last year on June 25. Joe insists that if Katherine would have visited Michael, he would still be alive today.

"I kept thinking about the times I had stood in front of her saying something was wrong. I couldn't bottle up my feelings. Katherine didn't say a word; I had to get away from her. If she'd done what I asked, Michael would be here today. I am incensed with her. She could have made a difference," Joe added.

Michael left a reported $33 million to each of his three children: Prince, 13, Paris, 12, and Blanket, 8. Katherine, as per Michael's will, is the legal guardian of her grandchildren and will receive 40 percent of his estate. The remaining 20 percent of his assets will be divvied up among various charities.

Michael's will, however, excluded his famous siblings, ex-wives and father.
