Jarretta Hamilton is angry and unemployed. The 39-year-old teacher was fired last April because she had sex before marriage and wound up pregnant. Now she has broken her silence and has gone public.
Hamilton has an 8-month-old baby girl with Samuel Treftz. The former fourth grade teacher was a widow with five children when she was hired in 2008 to teach at Southland Christian School in St. Cloud, Fla.
In April 2009, when Hamilton and her husband met with the principal of the school, Jon Ennis, to request a six-week maternity leave, she was met with an attitude that she could not even have fathomed.
Instead of sticking to the topic at hand, the maternity leave, Ennis began barraging Hamilton with questions about when she might have conceived her unborn child. He appeared to be more interested in delving into whether she had fornicated before marriage:
"He actually tried to do the math to figure out when I had conceived. I was absolutely shocked, it came out of nowhere. He actually fell back in his chair when I told him that I had conceived before marriage," she says.
About a week after Hamilton was interrogated by Ennis, she was terminated from her teaching position. The school called her actions "immoral." In a letter sent to Hamilton's attorney, Edward Gay, last July, Ennis wrote the following:
"Jarretta was asked not to return because of a moral issue that was disregarded, namely fornication, sex outside of marriage. The employment application, which she filled out, clearly states, that as a leader before our students we require all teachers to maintain and communicate the values and purpose of our school."
Now Hamilton has put on her boxing gloves and is ready to duke it out publicly with her former employer.
School officials, however, say there is a formal clause regarding morality that every teacher must abide by.
Hamilton doesn't buy it.
Treftz insists, "If there was a contract in place that had a morality clause, I think that would make a difference, he told NBC's Ann Curry on Monday. "At least people would know what they're getting into; I didn't know they were going to judge so harshly. I wasn't clear on what their stance was on certain issues," Hamilton adds.
To add insult to injury, when she was let go, Hamilton claims, that school administrators called a meeting to inform staff members and also told the parents of her students -- everyone was informed of her private information.
According to Gay, the termination violated federal anti-discrimination laws. In addition, they allege in a pending lawsuit that Hamilton's privacy was invaded when the school publicly released the personal details of her termination.
Now that Hamilton and her husband have gone public with their lawsuit, what does the school have to say about the matter?
According to MSNBC, Ennis sent Gay a letter requesting that his client give up the lawsuit:
"We request that Jarretta withdraw her complaint and consider the testimony of the Lord," the letter concludes.

I mean really. What do you expect if you work at a Christian School. She knew the expectation. It goes against what they stand for. How do you explain that to a student. Students, "The Bible states, Thou Shalt not Committ Fornication". But the teacher is pregnant. Get real. Thats like a Muslim joining a Christian Organization then sueing them when they served porkchop.

I think this should go to court before a jury where each of the people who recommended dismissal could be interrogated, under oath, about whether they, themselves, participated in sexual intercourse before marraige. Personally, I think the whole thing was because it was a mixed marraige.

Remember, many are their for having sex with their girlfriends and close schoolmates, not the real serial rapists, and you know many female sexual predators are never reported or charged like the males. So, do you support those above? Where is the forgiveness? GOD forgave, and I agree we are not GOD.

There are RULES adhere to being employed and if you as an employee sign an agreement to the office policy, you MUST abide or risk being FIRED, there is NO way to get around that, unless what she signed is not SOUNDED and durable by law, this is the angle this woman must take upon discovery.
However, if the policy she signed is durable by law and endorse by the school district policy, she is out of luck...and probably won't recover damages. The privacy law is durable in her case, she should recover an award for this insidous act to lease her private details with regard to getting pregnant. For me if I were a woman in this situation, I would not have TOLD them anything in that regard.
And lets get on to this sex before marriage kick and as result a child is born.. people need to stop using the BIBLE for their sin.. time and time again. the scriptures also say that GOD will give the SIN, but also states GOd will give over the spirit of man to a reprobate mind also because of continued disobedience, which means he will not continue to forgive at some point, that means GOd is DONE with you.. does not the scripture say this?.. this is what is meant when people say or USE God for convenience..only call on GOd when you get in trouble. "OH God just this ONE time if you get me out of this or that.. I won't do it no more" c'mon people as christians-what is that? God doesn't MAKE DEAL upon WORDS spoken when you are sinning, the ideallavation is to give GOd what you are not and you HEART totally to GOD and the SIN will go, end of STORY its that simple. People who don't truly understand the art of salvation- like this haven't talk to God about nothing when things are going right with them. Its only by GRACE and MERCY that God keep us when we do wrong and continue in SIN daily - GOd FIGHTS the battle because of our neglect of obedience and being STUPID- to adhere to the values and MORALs given to human-kind by God, so we can HAVE a BETTER life, prosper an abundant life. God has the descretion to FORGIVE us and its because of his SON only who DIED in yours and my place PLACE of SINS we commit- of which Jesus never did or deserved to be hung on the CROSS naked to the world and DIED- BUT HE GOT UP and walk out of the grave(OTG)..and it is my belief that not "everyone" is forgiven and eventually given over to a reprobate mind -its in the scriptures I didn't say God's words did...so people need to be careful and stop being SHELFISH and playing with GOD rolling the DICE-whether GOD forgives or not is NOT the TOTAL issue and WE ARE NOT to take GOD the Father and Jesus the SON and the HOLY spirit for GRANTED..especially in these last days.. and YES Jesus-- when he would forgive or heal, and he would ALWAYS say.. Having SEX before MARRIAGE is TOTALLY AGAINST GOD, and people don't have to beleive and you will ANSWER for the FACT- and you WILL answer to the purpose FACT KNOWING that fornication before marriage is a SIN before GOD..there's no doubt and you KEEP fornicating and having children?- males denying their children- all of it is curse and problematic because its a AGAINST GOD-PERIOD to have Children OUT OF WEDLOCK but thank God for Grace and Mercy taking care of BABIES and FOOLISH mothers and denying daddys ..you have already cursed your child because of it.. scripture said it..we just want the feel good stuff when we go to church, the music and all that, but the sciptures as CLEAR about the outcome of SIN and how it can effect you and your family for generations to come-to NOT adhere to mmorals and values... people will have HARDSHIP continually, suffer, sick all the time, struggling, BROKE, nothing is working for them, stugggling all the time to make ENDS.. all these things GOD said you will heap as an result of and on purpose doing things that you KNOW are AGAINST THE MORALS AND VALUES God gave to us..(man) as made in God's image from the DUST of the earth, and woman was FORMED from the rib of man, not CREATED by GOD from the dust of the earth..and so we need to understand why the scriptures states as such and why GOd did it that way, in other words why didn't GOd create woman from the DUST of the earth also?.. people need to understand what the scripture say, especially CHRISTIANS..and STOP making God and the scriptures a book of convenience..and living in sin on purpose.. because God forgives.. Please, keep playing with GOD..you will CURSE your generations to come..

as a teacher she is an example before children and in a christian school they hold these moral values according to the word of God. The teacher is an example to her students, how can she say or teach them to live a certain way if she cannot. Normally christian schools do expect their staff to live with high moral values because after all children will imitate what they see or hear or better what their taught from home school or friend so it has to be positive.

As a christian we are taught that having immoral thoughts are the same as doing the actual sin. It makes me question my faith, but this is what I was taught as a young girl. However, if this is the case, would that school even be in existance? Wouldn't we all be doomed from birth and pack our bags for our trip to Hell? You give people a little power and they try to act like God himself. Don't try to rewrite the Bible in your favor and make your rules more important than the Ten Commandments. It doesn't pay to treat people like they are beneath you and I hope they will get whatever they ask for.... but in jesus name, of course.

Next time lie. Save yourself the grief. This is just a smokescreen. Babies are being born out of wedlock everywhere and its accepted by the mainstream population. They should shake this principals moral tree and see what falls out????
