Joe Jackson has put temporary brakes on his request to receive an allowance of $15,000 a month from his late son's estate. Instead, the Jackson patriarch has opted to go after the man whom he claims was responsible for the death of Michael, Dr. Conrad Murray.
Jackson filed a wrongful death lawsuit last Friday in a federal court against Murray, who is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of the King of Pop.
Michael's 2002 will did not mention his dad at all. The two Jacksons often butted heads, and at one point, Michael was even quoted as saying that he would get physically sick at the sight of his father.
Instead, Michael left his trust to his mom, Katherine, his three children, and various charities.
Last November, Joe began his quest to obtain a monthly allowance from Michael's estate to help cover his expenses, which he claims exceeded the $15,000 he was seeking.
According to Joe, he filed the claim because he doesn't have a steady source of income and was financially dependent upon Michael through Katherine. Even though he has momentarily placed his stipend request on the back burner, he may very well ask his lawyer to reopen the request at a later date.

He shouldn't have never gone after the estate to begin with. MJ did not want you to get anything Joe. But I guess his wishes meant nothing to you and since you have withdrawn from it, they may still not.

Poor daddy! Michael fixed him. He's going to have to stay with his wife or go to the poor house. Katherine has control of the family now and if Mr. Joe wants to live it up and father more children out of wedlock, then I seriously doubt Katherine will take care of those children like she has her grandchildren. Men are something else.

Everyone thought MJ was being hash with his father when he said that his dad made him sick.If he would'nt have been so hungry for money back then, maybe he would be sharing some of Michael's estate now.

I dont think there are many specifix biographies. HOWEVER, you should check out the book 'Eight Men Out' which is an excellent story about Jackson and the other 7 "Black Sox"

I dont know about Joe Jackson, How was he living before MJ death?. If he wasnt getting a monthly allowance then Why is he entitled to one now.

I'm sorry,, but this Man is satan in the flesh, I have no sympathy for him at all...at all. to me he is just like one of those birds that feed off of the dead, and I'm asking myself, how could he do his son like that..He tortured his son in life, and now he's doing the samething in his death,,get it together JOE,,remember,,your day is coming.

I really can't understand everyone harshness at Joe Jackson, if it wasn't for him and his hard work, there would not have been a Pop Star at all. He was the one too see the talent in his boys and brought it too life.That documentary on the Jackson's shows a father taking charge of his home, being a man.So even though we don't all look to our kids to repay, Micheal owes who he was as a performer to his dad.Those other stuff they fell into that's themselves.Parents discipline kids back then, it's not abuse or make them weak. Micheal had issues with Micheal because of Micheal.

I agree with you 100%. Joe & Katherine should not have to go thru anybody for MJ's money. I think this is part of MJ's pathology and Joe should not be held hostage by it.

I was reading Joyce's comment regarding Joe and I'm sorry to say that I don't agree. The talent Michael had was a god-given talent. Joe only drove those kids to give himself a better life. His whole objective was to become rich and move to California. He was mean and cruel, never gave those kids any type of play and pleasure, worked them like slaves. When he lost control of their careers, he was devastated. He knew his money train had left the station. He had no idea what was ahead of him. What price came with the fame. Now Joe created the Jackson 5 but Michael took it to a whole new level, on his own. Joe can only take credit for starting them off in show business. The rest is god-given blessings. Especially when it comes to Michael. He had his own mind and own ideas. Michael made himself "The King of Pop, the world's greatest entertainer.
