Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly (pictured) and New York Post columnist Kirsten Powers went at it recently regarding charges from a former Justice Department lawyer who claims that civil rights cases in which whites are the victims are ignored. The case involves allegations against two New Black Panther Party members accused of intimidating white voters near the entrance of a polling place located in a largely black neighborhood. The men allegedly called white voters "white devil" and said that once Obama was elected, they would be "ruled by the black man, cracker."
The Bush administration, which many observers agree had a terrible civil rights record, brought a suit against the men. The new administration, including Attorney General Eric Holder, dropped the charges because it did not feel there was much of a case.
"To some, the civil rights laws are not meant to protect all Americans; they are meant to protect certain Americans," said former justice lawyer J. Christian Adams, a conservative who helped prosecute the New Black Panther Party case.
The case has taken on a life of its own in conservative circles and on Fox News, where Kelly and Powers went at it. The two women tried to talk over one another for most of the "interview," while Kelly accused Powers of not being informed about the case:
"You don't seem to know what you're talking about," Kelly said.
"Where was this outrage when the Bush administration ... was dismissing cases where black people were discriminated against?" Powers asked. "The minute I challenge you, you say I don't know what I'm talking about."
"Because you don't," Kelly responded.
At one point, Kelly threatened Powers, saying, "Don't make me cut your mic."
Although Kelly was louder, Powers held her own, saying the case was really about "the scary black man thing."
She also called Adams a "conservative activist posing as a whistle-blower" and said this one case should not "provoke hysteria" as it has because action was taken in the form of an injunction. The Bush administration, meanwhile, stocked the civil rights division with conservatives while failing to prosecute many civil rights cases involving blacks.
"It's ridiculous to accuse the Obama administration of not doing anything when they have," said Powers.
"Two wrongs make a right," Kelly kept repeating.
Mediaite columnist Colby Hall said the interview displayed "remarkably uncomfortable levels not normally seen on any cable news program."

ej... Just let me know who cries for the 1/2 million whites who gave the slaves freedom... In history there were more white slaves than black. Im proud of our history and I cry for those who lost their lives in the civil war and tell you that the the most racist group of people this country ever produced is the NAACP. And the most ungrateful purveyors of race baiting ever assembled

So, you're still living under that rock? 'Thousands of blacks killed by the racist hate of whites? When? If you have to create a point by lying, at least make it realistic. Maybe we should seperate the country in two halves...a white side and a black side, that way I wouldn't have to look at trashy streets, broken down vehicles and 'yard appliances'. Do some research on the origin of Liberia.

There is racism on both sides of the issue. There have been just as many whites beaten and killed by blacks due to racism, it just doesn't get reported by the liberal media and those with blinders on.
A car was driven into a crowd of white people and a child (2 years old) was killed in NC. The black man who did it said he did it because he hated white people and wanted to kill as many as he could.

If whites were killing Blacks by the thousands due to racial hate... Jesse Jackson would not of been so bored where he had to go after the Cav's owner... Look at the Southside of Chicago... it is a shame how black young men are killing eachother at a record pace... not even getting to an age where experiencing and living life can make a difference... Also if whites had nite sticks and threaten blacks, and exclaim that they hate all blacks and black babies should be killed... what do you think would happen! Give me a break... too many African Americans base decision and opinion on Color vs Charachter... Martin Luther is turning over in his grave!

Were you referring to the 1/2 million whites that died in the Civil War ending slavery? Were you referring to the slave trade that is to this day still taking place on the African continent? As a Native American I find it funny when I read people complaining that they are owed something for acts that took place almost 150 years ago based on only their race. Many United States citizens of African heritage lived in the north and were NEVER slaves.

What about the thousands of blacks currently being killed each year by other blacks over drugs and money. All you can ever talk about is 150 yrs ago but never acknowledge the black on black genocide.

I don't own slaves, I have never owned slaves, nor have any of my ancestors ever owned slaves. Slavery ended with the 13th Amendment on December 6, 1865. Any slaves that were alive at that time are long since passed on. Life isn't fair, but anyone can succeed if they really want to. AND YOU DON'T NEED THE GOVERNMENT'S HELP, EITHER!
