Fox News reporter Megyn Kelly (pictured) and New York Post columnist Kirsten Powers went at it recently regarding charges from a former Justice Department lawyer who claims that civil rights cases in which whites are the victims are ignored. The case involves allegations against two New Black Panther Party members accused of intimidating white voters near the entrance of a polling place located in a largely black neighborhood. The men allegedly called white voters "white devil" and said that once Obama was elected, they would be "ruled by the black man, cracker."
The Bush administration, which many observers agree had a terrible civil rights record, brought a suit against the men. The new administration, including Attorney General Eric Holder, dropped the charges because it did not feel there was much of a case.
"To some, the civil rights laws are not meant to protect all Americans; they are meant to protect certain Americans," said former justice lawyer J. Christian Adams, a conservative who helped prosecute the New Black Panther Party case.
The case has taken on a life of its own in conservative circles and on Fox News, where Kelly and Powers went at it. The two women tried to talk over one another for most of the "interview," while Kelly accused Powers of not being informed about the case:
"You don't seem to know what you're talking about," Kelly said.
"Where was this outrage when the Bush administration ... was dismissing cases where black people were discriminated against?" Powers asked. "The minute I challenge you, you say I don't know what I'm talking about."
"Because you don't," Kelly responded.
At one point, Kelly threatened Powers, saying, "Don't make me cut your mic."
Although Kelly was louder, Powers held her own, saying the case was really about "the scary black man thing."
She also called Adams a "conservative activist posing as a whistle-blower" and said this one case should not "provoke hysteria" as it has because action was taken in the form of an injunction. The Bush administration, meanwhile, stocked the civil rights division with conservatives while failing to prosecute many civil rights cases involving blacks.
"It's ridiculous to accuse the Obama administration of not doing anything when they have," said Powers.
"Two wrongs make a right," Kelly kept repeating.
Mediaite columnist Colby Hall said the interview displayed "remarkably uncomfortable levels not normally seen on any cable news program."

AOL headlined this article as "Fox News Anchor in Screaming Fit." Well, I watched the tape of the interview and I did not see Megan Kelly having a screaming fit. I saw a well informed, intelligent commentator stating the facts as they are. Perhaps AOl should review the tape again and aptly title the article, "Another Failed attempt by NY Post Columnist to save face of Obama Administration."

REALLY, Guardianne? You must have bathed in the kool-aid. THE BEST?!!! I am FLOORED at your comment. Either you're stupid or just TOO BLIND to see what is REALLY going on in D.C.
Obama is a muslim...born in Kenya. That 'birth certificate' you're talking about is NOT a legal document. I was born in 1961 and MY b.c. does NOT look like the one they posted as his.
FYI, they did NOT have laser printers in 1961.

It's amazing to see comments about African Americans should "GET OVER SLAVERY", but yet white folks cant seemed to "GET OVER" the O.J. case.

Megyn Kelly is right! Kirsten Powers displayed her clear ignorance of polling LAW, The law clearly states, (no matter if you are white, black, blue or purple) you can not harras, theaten, or intimadate or impede people from voting. I have worked the polls for many years and there are clearly stated laws that restrict people from harrassing or campaigining within a certain distance from the polls.
The law works both ways - remember many of these laws were put into place to protect black people from harrassment while voting. Holder needs to do his JOB and prosecute these "New Black Panthers" for violating the law. So what happens next time the Nazi party, or the ARYAN nation decides to harrass people at the polls - will HOlDER look the other way? Honestly, I am embarrassed by these "New Black Panthers" who can do nothing but stand up and call white people crackers, but go home and do nothing of substance for their own people. This is wrong - and as a black person, I want the laws upheld regardless of who breaks them. What happens next time when a white person breaks these laws? Will they get a pass?

Conservatives are so stupid. Remember
the black congressman who claimed to have
been called the "n" word by the Tea-baggers? The video did not back this up and conservatives used
that to prove their claim that it did not
happen, despite several eye-witnesses. Now with no video proof that the Black Panthers said what they claimed to have said we are supposed
to rely on witness testimony in absence
of video evidence.

Megyn please get your facts straight before making a fool of yourself. Where is all the rage coming from in America? Does megyn remember "JIM CROW?"
No, all the Foxers know about is Tea Tax LOL. Americans are paying less tax than ever, but what it is they do not want to pay any tax at all. They want to keep getting richer as middle class Americans keep getting poorer. Middle Class Americans do not have the luxuary of mega tax write-offs. Educate yourself Megyn and then try act with class and intelligence.

First things first, Kirsten talks too much over Kelly and it was so annoying and unprofessional to say the least. Next, how can anyone sit there (Kirsten) and blame a former administrations lack of due dilligence in prosecuting such cases as a defense for prosecuting the current case, un-f-ing-believeable - dumb biatch! And, Shame on Brad for not knowing what the hell is going on in his district. Get him the hell out of office now...and I'm a democrat...I'm so tired of the American People being jackbooted by politicians. If I would have seen some black panther standing near a polling place with his monkey suit and a baton = the fight is on, litterally.
