Some of the comments here sicken me. As a woman whom IS bipolar, some of you fail to understand that it is a chemical imbalance in the brain. So NO, Maia cannot think logically when it comes to making decisions regarding her own welfare. Where is your compassion? Unless it is your problem, and I pray to God it never is, or someone in your family is suffering from it, you will not understand what a sufferer of bipolar disorder goes through mentally. If it were not for my family, I would've committed suicide a long time ago. I can hear a few of you now "well, suicide isn't the answer". You're right. Logically speaking, it isn't the answer, but to a person tired of sleepless nights, depression, crying spells, and not being able to quiet the "noise"...it looks like a great way to finally have peace.

If your answer is "get some medication", I can tell you from personal experience that medication can do more harm than good. ANY drug that is used to counteract depression can have the opposite effect. Getting "help"/recovery is a combined effort of the RIGHT medication (I've been on 3 different ones since being diagnosed in '05) and support of family/friends that have a good understanding of the problem.

So before you post, based on ignorance, READ about bipolar disorder. Before I end this post, EVERY problem has a ROOT. Nobody wakes up and decides to just sell their body or pick up a crack pipe/needle. SOMEthing gets them to that point. Those of us who may be stronger, can stop before it gets to that point and others cannot. Don't make the mistake of assuming that everyone should act as you would. Quite simply, everyone isn't you.

I know this has been up for a while but she just crossed my mind when I watched an interview wit LL. Does anyone know what has happened with her since this incident? It is sad to see anyone spiral out of control for whatever reason. But she was in the public eye and it doesn't matter how long ago that was. When you search her name the video comes up first. We can only hope she was getting treatment while in jail. But no one can force her to want to get better. There was already seemingly a 'strike' against her if she was predisposed to her illness. Throw in being any public figure and losing your Mother (maybe her closest supporter) and that's recipe for destruction. I won't bother addressing the naysayers because people are who they are and will believe what they want. But this is something we can all learn from if we are open to it.
