Carl Paladino got caught sending out racist e-mails that included images of animal sex.
He is pushing an idea for welfare recipients to live in unused prison space and learn lessons in personal hygiene.
And in a television interview this week, he said he doesn't believe President Barack Obama is a practicing Christian but in fact "worships himself (watch below)."
Now he, Buffalo businessman and G.O.P. candidate for governor, is throwing a scare in to the Republican power structure in New York, where he faces former Republican Senator Rick Lazio - the party's favored son.
Paladino represents the nuttiest of all the candidates around the country trying to tap in to the Tea Party/Sarah Palin/Glenn Beck–inspired mentality of social conservatism, smaller government and Obama bashing.
Polls indicate that Lazio still leads Paladino in a head-to-head race but also show that Paladino is gaining momentum.
Paladino's campaign got an unexpected boost recently when The New York Post, an influential right-leaning tabloid, said Paladino talks about issues that people care about while Lazio "is barely saying anything."
It must be tough for Lazio to devise a political strategy against Paladino.
He can't just start acting wild and making crazy statements like Paladino, because it will look too phony - even for a politician.
But if he sits silently waiting for Paladino to implode, he looks like a do-nothing - especially if Paladino continues to connect with voters as he's been doing.
Though a political newcomer, Paladino has done a masterful job in letting the public see all of his political warts and barreling forward.
For example, Paladino has acknowledged that he fathered a daughter outside of his marriage. He has turned that potential stumbling block into an asset to some by saying he supports and keeps a strong family bond with the girl.
Paladino still faces an uphill battle to knock off Lazio, but he can take some comfort in the results of the Alaska senate race, where little-known, Tea Party–backed candidate Joe Miller upset party-backed incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski.
Unfortunately, it looks like anything is possible this election season.

See all you haters that come on this web site to spread your hate. The tea baggers, repubs and people like them are just like this paladino only the rest of you haters keep it undercover. That's why most of the people in this country are the biggest haters in this world. No wonder this country is the most hated country in the world. The really sad part is that this race problem will still be around when the grand kids of my friends, co-workers and family will still have to deal with you race haters when they become parents. How wonderful is that to still be dealing with race haters in the year 2011 and beyond. I will be glad that I may not be around to see those kids dealing with a race problem that is over 500 hundred years old. What a joke!

I agree! Nothing but race haters out there and the whole world is looking at the United States laughing out loud. This nation has become a real Sodom and Gommorrah, and all of its filth is rising to the top. The revolution will not be televised and its coming on the grounds of this nation because of all the race haters and their ignorance. A civil war is brewing in our nation which will wipe this place right off the map liken to Sodom and Gommorrah. All of the filth, greed, lies, volience, immorality, race haters, so call Christians like Paladino, Palin, Quayle, Beck, along with AOL for posting this garbage just to get a rise out of people will be gone wiped of the face of the earth. Those that look back will become a pillar of salt. War is never a pretty sight and it's sad to say that people like Paladino are declaring war on america's citizens.

I honestly do not care what anyone says about Obama. Obama has nothing to do with black America and is nothing more than a corporate pawn not unlike any African funded into Rwanda or Congo by the U.S. Corporations. I am more worried about this jailing of poor people, which is also an idea put out by Obama and can be seen through the way that FEMA under Obama has started the building of more FEMA prisons in the history of this country, which is something that even Judge Greg Mathis has slammed into Obama about-so as soon as certain people can stop acting like anything said about Obama is something being said about black America-onle should know that Obama is in no way connected to or rooted to Black America which explains why he left out blacks in the U.N. report on human rights abuses in the U.S. but including Arabs, Muslims, Latinos, Women and even people from South East Asia!

Paladino sounds like a brilliant guy, with refreshing ideas to bring to the table. Another sign that the Tea Party continues to leap in popularity and is coming at you in November!

Your are still an ignorant, fat, loud-mouth cripple(calling you disabled is an insult to those that are disabled. You still can't resist coming on this website and spewing your racist crap. What are you...a wanna-be. Must be, because you are always coming on this site and trying to start something. One day, you will say something to someone's face and get it punched in. I know you once told me that you would let me get the first punch in and then watch me go to jail. Well, I wouldn't soil my hands by touching you, so you don't have to worry about me touching you. I wouldn't want to get that funk on my hands. There isn't enough disinfective to combat your crap. Do us all a favor and crawl away and die...rid us of one less racist coward in the world today

The voters of New York State will have a choice in November. The New York State Freedom Party will be on the ballot with a viable candidate for Governor-Charles Barron of Brooklyn and Eva Doyle, Lt Governor-from Buffalo. The Freedom Party's motto is unbssed, Unbought, Unchained! On November 2nd., vote the Freedom Party line.
