Iconic rapper T.I., 29, and his new bride, Tameka Cottle, 35, a TV reality star, were arrested Wednesday night in West Hollywood and booked on felony possession of a controlled substance charge. The celebrated couple, who just tied the knot in Miami in July, were busted when officers were conducting routine traffic stops and smelled marijuana wafting from their vehicle.

The duo was cruising in their $400,000-plus Maybach, a gift T.I. bought for himself when he was sprung from prison in December of last year, after serving seven months on federal weapons charges. He is currently on probation.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, Jr., and Tameka were driving along Sunset Blvd. at around 10:30 p.m., when police pulled them over. When officers searched the vehicle, after the smell of marijuana permeated the air, they arrested the couple. As to what type of drug was found in the car, authorities are keeping mum and not releasing any information; however, TMZ reports, that police officials confirmed that the drug ecstasy was in fact discovered in the couple's vehicle.

TMZ also alleges that Styrofoam cups with traces of sizzurp were found in the vehicle as well (see photo above). Sizzurp, Texas tea, barre or purple drank are slang terms for the recreational drug that is popular in the hip-hop community. The main ingredient in the prescription-strength purple liquid is codeine and promethazine. Typically, those who indulge in the concoction mix the syrup with a soft drink and Jolly Rancher candies.
The couple was taken into the West Hollywood sheriff's station, and bail was set at $10,000 each. Bail was posted, and T.I. and Tameka were released at 4 a.m. on Thursday morning. Tameka tweeted the following upon their release:
Jus wanted 2say thank u 2every1 dats been leaving encouraging msgs & prayers! We love u guys:)going 2bed now! So glad 2b n a nice clean bed$.
T.I.'s publicist would not comment on the incident.
Recently the multiplatinum artist and co-star of the recent box office hit 'Takers' sat down with an Associated Press journalist in July. Ironically, T.I. discussed how he was focused and determined to live a more positive life.
"Right now, it's all about moving forward and just acknowledging the blessings that are here today. ... Just moving past the regrets of yesterday -- the things that could've been done better," he affirmed.
Hey, T.I., why risk getting arrested yet again and veer so seriously this time off your road to redemption?

Here we go ...again! So, why is anyone at all surprised to see yet another "rapper" in the news for engaging in the usual aberrant behavior! When are black people going to learn that these rappers continue to only be a sore spot on the black community. I'm sadly beginning to believe all that negative rhetoric about how blacks as a whole just can't seem to either act right, or even know how to behave. It's just sad that we just never seem to be able turn the corner, and simply grow the F**k up!

Look at the comments Eric (Above) left on the (Section 8) housing article. Appears he can't decide who (and what) he/she really is.
Now about the article. On probation (Uh Oh!).
When you make that much money, but decide you just gotta drive yourself around town you fall under just one category (D.U.M.B.A.S.S.).
To the "it's only weed" comment. Most people are not aware that it carries the same penalties as though under the influence of alcohol. Smoke what and when you want, it's your life. But be aware under the influence is under the influence. He will be going back to jail being on probation, but he can be thankful he didn't kill or get killed due to impaired motor skills and reaction times while under the influence.

Blacks rappers are certainly not the only drug users, by the way white kids from the burbs use more drugs than anybody. Just in case u missed it, your lil Miss Paris Hilton is at it again, for drug possession.

Well this aint about Paris this time is i?!?!?! . I love when someone has to find a way to bring race into everything whenever someone black gets caught doing something stupid. This is all about T.I. and Tiny. Not about the whole black race. T.I. is a true product of his environment and is unable to stay out of trouble obviously if he is willing to put himself and his new wife in danger after just coming out of prison. That's what the industry gets for taking a chance on somebody who brags about crime in his raps. High profile people who want to hang out like they're normal folk kill me. Not even smart enough to have his bodyguards carry it in a separate car. Sounds like a parole violation to me.

Eric, the question is, when are black people going to learn that WE can't believe everything we read about each other, and that WE get pulled over for nothing all the time? Are you saying that you or no one in your life has ever been harassed by the police? I did a research study about this in school and found out that all of the 30 college attending/degree holding black men I interviewed had been stopped by the police for nothing, by the time they were 15. One of them as young as 12. I'm not saying we are all innocent or that T.I. and Tiny are; neither of us knows what happened in this case, but damn, won't it be nice to see black people giving each other the benefit of the doubt since we get so much of this kind of drivel from other people? Why does the first comment have to be about rappers bringing the race down, as if the same isn't true about someone who would still be writing this in 2010? I bet you'd be the same kind of black person writing about how "we can't stick together" too. look in a mirror if you want to find one of the problems black people are having with each other.

Whether or not you are black, please don't let "hip hop" represent all of black America. The media does a good job of brain washing the rest of the countries to believe that this is all blacks have to offer. Because of the fame, their lives are put under a microscope. It's sad because most of his fans are young. Unfortunately in this country minorities tend to be representatives of not only ourselves, but for everyone in the group. If I'm not mistaken, Paris Hilton recently got arrested for cocaine possession, no group affiliation there, race or otherwise, maybe just an affiliation with Hollywood. When T.I. or another rapper does something, it is inevitable that all of hip hop is labeled as deviant. Recently with the whole Dr. Laura fiasco, it was interesting that she basically defended saying the “N” word because black comedians say it. You would hope an allegedly intelligent person would not assume and group everyone together, but that’s not the case. In her small mind all blacks are fine with calling each other the “N” word, my point goes back to the wrong assumptions that we all are somehow linked by one psyche. We are all individuals and my actions nor T.I’s should not be a representative of one group.
