Iconic rapper T.I., 29, and his new bride, Tameka Cottle, 35, a TV reality star, were arrested Wednesday night in West Hollywood and booked on felony possession of a controlled substance charge. The celebrated couple, who just tied the knot in Miami in July, were busted when officers were conducting routine traffic stops and smelled marijuana wafting from their vehicle.

The duo was cruising in their $400,000-plus Maybach, a gift T.I. bought for himself when he was sprung from prison in December of last year, after serving seven months on federal weapons charges. He is currently on probation.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, Jr., and Tameka were driving along Sunset Blvd. at around 10:30 p.m., when police pulled them over. When officers searched the vehicle, after the smell of marijuana permeated the air, they arrested the couple. As to what type of drug was found in the car, authorities are keeping mum and not releasing any information; however, TMZ reports, that police officials confirmed that the drug ecstasy was in fact discovered in the couple's vehicle.

TMZ also alleges that Styrofoam cups with traces of sizzurp were found in the vehicle as well (see photo above). Sizzurp, Texas tea, barre or purple drank are slang terms for the recreational drug that is popular in the hip-hop community. The main ingredient in the prescription-strength purple liquid is codeine and promethazine. Typically, those who indulge in the concoction mix the syrup with a soft drink and Jolly Rancher candies.
The couple was taken into the West Hollywood sheriff's station, and bail was set at $10,000 each. Bail was posted, and T.I. and Tameka were released at 4 a.m. on Thursday morning. Tameka tweeted the following upon their release:
Jus wanted 2say thank u 2every1 dats been leaving encouraging msgs & prayers! We love u guys:)going 2bed now! So glad 2b n a nice clean bed$.
T.I.'s publicist would not comment on the incident.
Recently the multiplatinum artist and co-star of the recent box office hit 'Takers' sat down with an Associated Press journalist in July. Ironically, T.I. discussed how he was focused and determined to live a more positive life.
"Right now, it's all about moving forward and just acknowledging the blessings that are here today. ... Just moving past the regrets of yesterday -- the things that could've been done better," he affirmed.
Hey, T.I., why risk getting arrested yet again and veer so seriously this time off your road to redemption?

The issue here is not about race. It's about breaking the law. T.I. and his wife are accused of breaking the law, point blank! Laws are set in place so that there is order in society and not chaos. It should not matter if it's T.I., Tiny, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, me or you. Laws are for the lawless! If that's you, then man/woman up and deal with the consequences of your behavior. What if WE all decided to give way to our impulses; live with no restraint. We could get high while operating a motor vehicle, drink open liquor while driving, shoot anyone that ticked us off? What kind of society would we have? NONE of us would be safe. If you violate the rules/laws that govern society, you should be incarcerated or punished! I thought we were Civilized not Neanderthal!

I really do not care personally how many times the white Paris Hilton or Lindsay Lohan gets arrested for their bad behaviors. I expect better from my own people (blacks). I especially expect parents, famous or otherwise to stay out of trouble with something that can destroy their life or families'lives. I want people in general to stop doing stupid stuff. Now it may be true that blacks gets harrassed more for "nothing" but drug possession is far from nothing.Whether it is a low class crime (drugs) or a high class crime (embezzlement). Do not commit crimes and expect to not pay for it.

It is funny how T.I. and Tiny get into some trouble and the word "BLACKS" has to be used. I didn't know T.I. and Tiny represent all black people. There are a few bad apples in the bunch as is with other races, but their actions don't speak for everyone. When Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton get into trouble, no one's grouping all "WHITES" together. It just doesn't make any sense to me. If I spoke as ignorant as the guy above I would say "when are white people going to learn that these young troubled white actresses continue to only be a sore spot on the white community"...come on...that sounds ridiculous. People are responsible for their own actions, not the entire race. Get a life people!
