A judge has ruled that the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) faction led by the Rev. Sylvia Tucker is the winner in the legal fight over who controls the moribund civil rights group based in Atlanta.
But the legal wrangling will likely continue.
The loser in the fight, the Rev. Curtis Harris, has said he will appeal the ruling of a Fulton County Superior Court judge that took control of the civil rights group from Harris, treasurer Spiver Gordon and chairman Raleigh Trammell.
For nearly a year, the SCLC, founded by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., has been represented by two separate boards of directors, with each claiming a legal right to run the organization. Last month, each faction held their own national convention.
In a stance illustrating the silliness of the situation, Harris said he will not work with Tucker's group to end the fighting.
If the SCLC is to survive, incoming leader Rev. Bernice King, daughter of the group's founder, needs to step in and squash Harris' losing SCLC faction like a bug, so the group can speak with a single voice.
I am not certain the SCLC will make it. Fighting for civil rights these days takes strong and smart leadership and there is little evidence the SCLC has either, but that could change with the legal ruling in place.

Oh, please! Now, who even really cares about the "defunked" SCLC anyway? This kind of nonsense and behavior is exactly why black people can't do, or get anything straight! There's always, the usual infighting! That's sadly all we see, and expect from both the black community, and black organizations!

The SCLC has always had crappy leadership, starting with MLK who embezzled it's funds to support his prostitute habit. Blacks don't seem to mind though, they and the media still promote MLK as some kind of saint, when he in fact was a beast.

That MLK embezzled funds from the SCLC and used the money to buy prostitutes is beyond question. The FBI has all the reports, local police also filed numerous reports to this effect. Even some blacks have admitted this. But, blacks are so hungry for somebody to look up to, they have built an entire mythology around MLK. The mass media and most politicians, scared of being labeled "racist" have gone along with this, sometimes actively, sometimes passively by just not mentioning how unethical MLK really was. In addition to theft and prostitution, MLK was also a communist (attended communist party meetings) and plagiarist (his college papers and books were mostly the result of plagiarism). If you doubt any of this, just search the net for the truth. Just because nobody (but a few brave souls like me) mention these facts, doesn't change that they are facts.

Sad, but it's true about MKL, and embezzlements! It not only was in the FBI files, but also was verify, and factually supported by Dr. Ralph Abernathy who was King's second in command. You only need to view the FB transcripts for yourself to see the "real" MLK. There is a stark contrast between the "man and the myth"! Someday, blacks themselves will have to finally come to the realization about the real Michael King!

Which FBI are you refering to. The one that was controlled by a cross dressing director with the help of his Gay lover, living a life of Luxury off the taxpayers dole, who made up files contrived of lies to intimidate his enemies. Or the FBI that dragged its feet in solving cases of lynchings against black people or persons of color in general. How is it that white people cherry pick their recallings of historical events, to justify their racism, and expect people to be just as blinded by their hate as they are.BV has a virus on its site, and its these paid right wingers who try and steer public opinion by casting doubt in the minds of persons of color reading these blogs. Its part of a concerted effort to splinter the black community more and to destroy whatever continuity we have remaning as a group. How else do you explain a person making so many entries, on multiple subjects with the same rhetoric. The right wing in this country is funded by unscrupulos people, who have a pool of misfits and peons who are more than willing to spew their hatred for them if the price is right. Don't be swayed by what is in your face, just call it for what it really is. Some poor jerk with no morals who's fear of black people engulfs their every waking moments. I truely feel sorry for you and your people, for hell awaits you with a fury you can't even imagine. Your money or quest for it will not hide you from this fate. You never had and never will have the moral high ground over people of color. NEVER.

I'm referring to the very same FBI that you're referencing in your comments. Yes, J. Edgar Hoover was as you pointed out gay, but he was also "half black" too! Did you know that fact? The fundamental question that should be of paramount importance to ignorant blacks people like yourself is"Why?" did he do what did, and still be black? It's easy to understand though..he hated himself for being black too! Just, like most blacks still do today! That's why we see all these "lost" Black women wearing all this fake hair! Because they're only trying to look white and escape from their blackness, but can't! Blacks continued to get lynched, and I'm not defending that process at all, but mainly it was because they wouldn't stand together and fight back just like they still don't, and won't ever stand together and build either! But, they do kill other blacks at alarming numbers...still, and more that any other people! Why aren't you talking about that fact? You talk about historical events that whites have been the major perpetrators, and I have to fully concur with you, but if you're going to view things from a historical perspective then perhaps yo also need to study the history of Africa itself as well. If, you do that then you'll see that Africans were engaged in slavery 'long before' the first white man ever stepped foot on the continent of Africa. And, even after they did they too (Africans) were active partners in the slave trade as well! The same historical slave trade that brought today's African Americans to America. So, in reality who's really the blame here? So, it's clear that you don't even know your own history! This isn't about the right wing, so don't try to default, or change the thread of the topic. that's something that black people always want to do, just to avoid dealing with the real facts! Sorry, but not this time. the key element of this discussion was MLK! And, it's also clear that you don't even have knowledge of his life, or history either! I find that strange that you'd want and do apparently think he's saint, but you obviously know almost nothing about his life, and his background. You only know what you want to hear, but those aren't all the facts! As, I stated in my earlier comments the day isn't long away that the real MLK will be exposed to ignorant black people just like you to see. Sure you'll reject the findings, that's to be expected, but nevertheless the truth is still the truth! You're just like the majority of black Americans who are completely clueless about their own history! Your watch way too much television, and BET, perhaps you need to try going to either your local bookstore, or visiting the library for a change tp better educate yourself, because you're very ignorant!
And, this behavior as it relates to the article itself only continues to show the constant bickering, lack of solidarity, lack of respect, along with the usual predticable "infighting" bewteen black people, which is nothing but the standard norm!
