Elias Abuelazam has been charged with the first of what promises to be several murder charges in a serial-stabbing spree across three states that prosecutors say "terrorized our citizens."
Abuelazam was charged in the death of a Flint, Mich., man, Arnold Minor, 49, and was hit with four additional counts of attempted murder as part of a stabbing spree that left five men in the Flint area dead and nine others injured.
Abuelazam, an Israeli national, is a suspect in two other stabbing cases in Michigan, another in Ohio and a hammer attack in Virginia.
Authorities are undecided about whether the attacks were racially motivated. When news of the stabbings was released this summer, cops in Virginia and Michigan said black men appeared to be targeted in the stabbings.
But authorities seemed to back off that racial motive when Abuelazam was captured at an Atlanta airport Aug. 11, just minutes before boarding a flight back to Israel.
A prosecutor in Michigan said yesterday, however, that it does appear that Abuelazam was targeting black men, cruising areas of Flint and surrounding neighborhoods.
Flint Police Chief Alvern Lock said race may have been a factor in the stabbing spree, but there is no evidence it was the key factor.
I'm not sure what Lock is looking at, but when 12 of the 14 victims were black, that's enough to pursuade me that Abuelazam was selecting his victims based on race.

12 out of 14 people being black does not make it a crimes against blacks issue.
It's an issue of another extremist doing as much damage as he can before attempting to flee back to his homeland.
Racist mongers are little more than wolves in sheep clothing.
And all of you who say police aren't doing enough, this should be a good example that they are.
His crime spree was "random" and brief yet the police were able to nab him before being able to run like the bit** he obviously is.

@ The Truth. How is this a case of racist mongers? 12 out of the 14 were black and I believe at least 1 of the others was also a minority. I belive he was hispanic. You tell me how it does not seem to be a race thing when most of the men he attacked were not white. You seem to me like another person who would love to believe that racism no longer exists and that when it does happen and its overwhelmingly obvious it should be ignored. Next time do some research.
