A pastor at a church in South Carolina says that he is going to have a rally at the state capitol in Atlanta to demand that Bishop Eddie Long resign as pastor of the New Birth Missionary Baptist Church.
The pastor on the attack is Bishop Prophet H. Walker (pictured above) of the True Light Pentecostal Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The pastor has become vocal in light of the allegations against Bishop Eddie Long and says he wants to set the record straight.

"He has no right to assume the office of pastor of any Christian church," Walker said. "A pastor should be above reproach."
Walker has stated that he does not support homosexuality and says that the rally will "support the integrity and character of the Christian faith."
When I heard about the protest being held by Bishop H. Walker, I wasn't sure what to think. I suspect that any intelligent person knows that there are going to be some members of the church who don't quite live up to the standards of the bible. Wait, I guess that would be almost everyone, since none of us are perfect. We also know of at least one preacher who might be accused of using the pulpit as an avenue for sexual opportunities (note the story I wrote about Pastor Steven Arnold earlier on Wednesday).
I can't help but wonder if Bishop H. Walker is seeking publicity for himself and his church by demanding Bishop Eddie Long's resignation. He's not a member of Long's church, he lives in another state and I wouldn't expect that he has any personal relationship with Long's work other than being a fellow Christian. There is, I must confess, something very un-Christian about Bishop H. Walker's public challenge to Eddie Long.
As you know, I've written about Bishop Eddie Long quite a bit here on Aol. Black Voices. I've also been critical where necessary. What we must remember, though, is that the trial has not yet occurred and there is likely a second side to this story. Also, as my mind has wandered over Bishop Eddie Long's situation, I've had to confront the possibility that those "steamy pictures" taken in Long's bathroom may have just been him showing off his workout routine. Besides the pictures and the stories from the accusers, the other side still has a great deal more to prove.
I am not, for one second, saying that Bishop Eddie Long didn't do the things that he's accused of. Even he never denied the allegations in front of his congregation. Instead, he simply said that he's not a perfect man and that he's going to fight. That doesn't give me, nor most other Americans, much confidence in Bishop Eddie Long's side of the story.
One thing that's for certain is that Bishop H. Walker should not be spending his time on the "I-Hate-Eddie-Long" campaign trail. It honestly seems that the more our religious leaders engage in self-righteous condemnation, the more skeletons they have to hide. Bishop H. Walker should just stay in South Carolina and keep sharing the word of God. Eddie Long has enough haters to keep him busy.

It would be an honorable thing to do. But watch, Prophet Walker might have a skeleton in his closet.
It seems that these routine sex with congregants especially with boys, is prevalent in the Churches. From the Church of America to the Church of England, all the way to Rome. The Pope was mobbed at his recent visit to London because of this sacrilegious behaviors of his Messiahs.
As often as we loathe the Islamic religion, not once have we ever heard of any sexual escapades in the mosques between the Imams and the congregants be it at the Mosque of America to the Mosque in England all the way to Saudi Arabia.
I think the Christian world ought to come to grip with this. It is a problem to think about.

This should not be the opportunity to promote one religion over the other. Just because there is no scandal does not mean it does not happen. It may just be the accepted part of their society or Islam thus does not qualify as scandal material.

@alie
I was not promoting Islam. I was trying to say that is a scandal in Christianity may not be for Islamics because it may be acceptable thus not considered a crime. Another words, young boys may be used in the same way that they were use for Eddie Long by those who practice Islam, yet considered normal for their culture thus no scandal.

The Truth you have no right to demand someone pledge allegiance to one side of an issue of another. Plus i imagine Dr. Boyce covers most of these stories in a journalistic compacity

I THINK THAT A PROTEST IS KINDA EXTREME. PERHAPS THE MOST HONORABLE THING TO DO IS STEP DOWN UNTIL THINGS HAVE BEEN CLEARED. STEPPING BACK IS NOT SAYING YOU ARE GUILTY,IT'S JUST SAYING YOU ARE HUMBLE ENOUGH AS A SERVANT OF GOD TO MOVE, AND LET GO FOR RIGHT NOW, AND COME BACK STRONGER. THE BATTLE IS NOT OURS IT BELONGS TO THE LORD.
BEING IMPERFECT DOES NOT GIVE US THE RIGHT TO SIN,FLESH IS A MESS, AND THERE IS NO GOOD THING IN IT. THAT'S WHAT THE WORD SAYS. WE ALL STRIVE FOR THE PROFECTION SPIRIUALLY. WE ALL SHOULD PRAY FOR EACH OTHER. SKELETONS ARE EVERYWHERE,I AM NOT LOOKING FOR THEM.THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS WHAT WASHES WHITTER THAN SNOW. WHEN YOU PLAY YOU PAY,YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM THE MASTER HE IS EVERYWHERE.

@BG, you share my sentiments exactly. That's the one thing I admire about Islam is serious they are to their religion. Many of them are serious about not letting the ways of the world effect them (something Jesus told us not to do.) I feel that as long as they are not effected by Western Culture, you won't see such things as "escapades between Imams and congregants" or youths acting openly gay in mosques. I never hear conversations about homosexuality in Islam.
