I had been staying up nights, tossing and turning, wondering what happened to my future baby daddy, South Carolina senatorial candidate Alvin Greene. Ever since his felony indictment on some weird sex charges in South Carolina, I hadn't heard a peep from the man destined to be the next Barack Obama.
But sometimes prayers do get answered.
Greene gave a nationally televised interview on 'The Last Word' on MSNBC, and he did not disappoint. For all of you doubters and/or haters, Greene was the consummate professional in this interview -- not giving in to Lawrence O'Donnell's "gotcha" questions, tabloid journalism and other attempts to discredit his pure-as-driven-snow character. Greene had something for us all. Prepare to be "wowed" as you watch the video below:
As with any transformational figure, Greene stuck to his agenda. He would not be distracted from promoting the needs of the people of South Carolina. Who cares if he kept repeating himself as if he had memorized his lines? Who cares if he ignored any questions he was actually asked? Who cares if he looked like a remarkably lifelike android who was sent to Earth to gain information about human democracies before the "invasion?" I don't.
If Greene says Republican opponent Jim DeMint single-handedly caused the Great Recession, who are we to question that? Well, didn't he?
If you didn't appreciate the science Alvin dropped in this interview, then there is clearly something wrong with YOU. Perhaps you are one of those liberal elitists who thinks that intelligence is important. Maybe you are a policy wonk who thinks that having a plan for governing is all that matters. Or maybe you are some average human being who wants to hear a coherent sentence. Well, Greene refuses to be put into your little boxes, you snobs.
Sure, if you want just another politician who has some sort of "plan" and who uses verbs that "agree" and can construct a coherent "sentence," then perhaps you can take your unrealistic expectations and your snooty attitude and go kick rocks. However, if you want a real man who will unleash change on South Carolina, change like you've never seen, then you will pick Greene and you will vote for him for Senate in November. For the term of ... life.
God bless Alvin Greene and these United States of America.
28-Sep-10 - Trying to get various black public figures to speak out for or against Bishop Eddie Long has been harder than getting 4-year-olds to go to the dentist. No one is talking, but everyone is paying attention.
27-Sep-10 - Jessica Moore, 19, was hanging out at an off-campus frat party Saturday, when a man who was angry about not getting in to the party, came back with a gun and started shooting. Moore was shot in the head.
23-Sep-10 - Some really "interesting" pictures of Bishop Eddie Long, which were allegedly sent by Long to one of his "spiritual sons," were made public last week.
I like the way he stuck to his point. I also like the fact that you can participate in the governing process within this country. We must also remember that the person who sits in these sits will have POWER over many LIVES. Not only in this country but around the world. GOD BLESS Bro Greene. I don't live in S.C. but I know something about the race matters there and a change is needed. Demint wants to go back to the "OLD SOUTH" he does'nt relize that the "LIGHT OF KNOWLEDGE" is on and it won't and can't be turn off. "HE IS FROM THE PARTY OF NO" and that will be his undoing. How can you stop people from doing "HONEST WORK" while your at work on the "PEOLES MONEY". Jamel, Jamel, Jamel...You know good and well that nobody could be as bad as Sarah Palin. However, Alvin is real close. Sarah had better get home before Levy makes that next booty call.
Jam Donaldson, I couldn't stop laughing while reading your article, until i realized you weren't joking - you're serious, you really think this guy is good for ANY state??? The only diffeence between this interview and his first one, several weeks ago is that his handlers have had time to tutor him and make sure he memorizes ONLY what's been written for him, no matter what the interviewer says. "Jim DeMint is bad for South Carolina" is not the answer to the question "What is your plan for South Carolina". This guy may be a very nice fellow - or he may be a perverted stalker but he is not qualified to take on the responsibilities of the citizens of South Carolina or any other state and the Bastards who put him forth as a candidate to gum up the political works of that state should be ashamed of themselves. They owe Mr. Greene an apology for putting him on exhibit and holding him up to ridicule like some circus freak. When all this is over I wish only the best for Mr. Greene and his family.
If he was a Tea Party Canidate then he would be right for that platform, but he is not maybe we should start our own "Coffee!Black Anyone Party" to the same tune as the tea baggers they get elected without knowing the facts. NO,NO! the facts does not matter group. Alvin Green should be a force to recon with, if Black Voices just stand up for something other themself. I give Mr Green an A for he is the new leader of Coffee... or Green Tea. I would vote for Alvin Green as the next Senator from South Carolina

It's obvious that at least two of the comments above were made by graduates of "Ebonics University".
