It appears that Fox News has really embraced Juan Williams. Shortly after Williams was fired from NPR for making offensive statements about Muslims, Fox signed him to a three-year contract reportedly worth $2 million. His role will be an expanded one, where he will make more appearances on the network and become a stronger fixture in the Fox News lineup.
Williams was instantly fired from NPR for saying that he gets nervous when he sees Muslims on the same airplane as himself. The comments were implying that Muslims are more likely to be terrorists, and that any Muslim he encounters might be the one that wants to blow him up. Isn't that like a white woman saying that she gets nervous when black men get on the elevator with her at night?
The timing of Fox's decision to offer Williams a blockbuster deal is intriguing. By offering Williams a new deal right after he was sent away by NPR, Fox is making a clear statement to both the Muslim community and the rest of America that it doesn't care what either group thinks.
Williams is also in the same class as Don Imus and a few other public figures who've made disrespectful comments about minorities. Many of these individuals are fired by their original networks only to be either brought back a few months later or sent to a more conservative platform. In fact, Glenn Beck has shown us that the more vile and inflammatory the commentator's rhetoric, the more he is going to be embraced by Fox.
Juan Williams belongs with Fox News, a network that has a poorly disguised political agenda. They work directly with conservatives to fire up the very worst of America and threaten to tear the country apart. Also, by signing a larger deal with Fox and being banished from NPR, Williams has further solidified the public's pre-existing perception of him as a mediocre journalist whose greatest achievement is to be a mouthpiece for those who don't respect minorities. This makes me sad, because Williams showed a tremendous amount of potential earlier in his career. Perhaps in the age of the Internet, integrity just doesn't pay the bills.
I wish Juan Williams good luck in his new role. I can't think of a better fit.

Sorry Brady... This one doesn't qualify in the category of "haten" everyone knows the reputation that Fox News has (top level bigotry) and for them to take this action is so political it stinks. But on the other hand, go get that money Juan, just hope you don't fall into the "do as the Romans do" syndrome. I hope nobody wishes ill health on anyone, but God doesn't like ugly Mr. Beck!!!

Ken beleive me this hatin. If you knew the history of Watkins, Williams and O'Reilly, you would understand.
Watkins messed with Bill, and Bill unleashed the dogs of hell on Watkins. Juan didnt side with Watkins, neither did Al Sharpton. But Juan is the Watkins has the beef with. Yeah Bruh this is hatin.
Watkins is the one always harping on justice and diversity. Yet we have a black man summarily dimmissed for anxiety. Juan didnt even get a face to face. Is that just. yeah Bruh this is hatin.
Wasnt Watkins complaining about the lack of diversity in Justice Kagens background, didnt he critize CNN for the same. NPR HAS NO BLACK ON AIR TALENT. Wouldnt you think Watkins and other boot leg black leaders would confronting NPR. Yeah Bruh this is hatin.
This cat is a "Black Liberal" dismissed by a liberal organization, Fox has the mans back for 2 mill for a part time gig, and you negroes complain. Did TV One or B.E.T offer him anything.
yeah bruh this is hatin.
Why isnt the national association for the ADVANCMENTof COLORED PEOPLE, or the national assoication of BLACK JOUNRNILST, stand up for this man.
One blogger put it best, for some "Juan isnt black enough for support?

I just thought of another reason why this is hatin.
On NPR whites have made far worse comments than Juan, yet they remain.
Normally Watkins and others scan the News for just such a situation to exploit. You have a Black fired for doing for less than whites.
This softball has been served up, ready for any race baiter to just swing, JUST SWING! Yet silence.
This is hatin becuase of Juans book, and becuase he didnt side with Watkins.
Bravo Fox, Good lookin out for the brother!

It is ashame when offensive commits are tolerated especially when it is coming from a black man. Has Williams forgotten where he came from?

The truth is there is a large section of the Muslim world, not a majority I believe, that would like to see Americans harmed. A number of these would go to the extreme of suicide missions on public transportation that would indiscriminately kill people in order to create a terror situation. The fact that Mr. Williams believes that Muslims, as a group, pose a larger threat of producing extremists such as this, is probably realistic. His "crime" was expressing his opinion.

I wish i had a blood pressure cuff on your arm when you wrote that bulls((( article. Fox is number one for a reason. Most of America turns to Fox News for fair and balance reporting.Thats why CNN and MSNBC`s ratings have drop to an all time low, thats why liberal newspapers like the N.Y. and L.A.Times subscription rates are falling big time!Keep spewing your hate Bro.Watkins because there seems to be an audience for it.

you talk about a man spewing his hate when you threaten and your network shows a public display of accepting hate. its like the place you go when you want to feel its ok to hate someone else for reasons you have no control over. Like i said before, if you replace Juans muslim word with black, people would be outraged except for you because by watching Faux, they have you people beleiving that you are not black, just like they have you believing that they are fair and balanced.
