Lil Wayne is Back! Lil Wayne released from prison, Lil Wayne free, Lil' Wayne Out of Jail!

Weezy is free at last! Lil Wayne, who has been behind bars for eight months for attempted criminal possession of a weapon, was released early this morning from New York City's famed Riker's Island prison.

The hip-hop icon, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was sentenced last March for attempted criminal possession of a weapon. Wayne admitted to having a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun when his tour bus was stopped shortly after a New York City concert in 2007, and he pleaded guilty to the felony charge.

There seemed to be a lot of anticipation by folks eagerly awaiting Wayne's return to society, oddly enough, even President Bill Clinton, who told a Pittsburgh morning radio show, "What I hope is that [jail time] is not just something to brand him as a cool guy, but that it will never happen again to him. What I hope will happen is that he has a good life now."

Wayne will be flying high for a minute, but he has some unfinished business in Arizona. The multiaward-winning artist was spared time in an Arizona jail under a plea deal stemming from his 2008 arrest at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint in the state. The rapper's tour bus was stopped and searched by Border Patrol authorities after they said they were alerted by a drug-sniffing dog. Agents found nearly four ounces of marijuana, an ounce of cocaine, 41 grams of ecstasy and a .40-caliber pistol registered to Carter.

Under the deal, the 30-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug. Three other drug and weapons charges were dismissed. Now Wayne has to begin his Arizona probation on the heels of his Riker's release.

Wayne will celebrate his freedom with a Miami strip club party on Sunday. Sources say he might also make a surprise pit stop at Drake's "Light Dreams and Nightmares" tour on Saturday in Las Vegas.

Welcome home, Weezy!
