Lil Wayne Smacked With Paternity Challenge in Prison

Freshly sprung from the pokey, rapper Lil Wayne, while still getting acclimated to his newfound freedom, must now take a court-ordered paternity test to determine whether he fathered an 8-year-old child in Missouri.

Apparently, an unidentified Missouri woman had her grandmother, Brenda Ann Brown, serve Wayne paternity papers while he was incarcerated at New York City's Riker's Island for an attempted criminal possession of a weapon charge. Brown is now demanding that Lil Wayne take the paternity test.

The papers were originally presented to Lil Wayne in August, and he was scheduled to submit to a DNA test before Sept. 10. Since the hip-hop icon was serving time and could not take the test, though, the judge moved the deadline to Dec. 9.

Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, has four children. Wayne's firstborn, Reginae, whom he had when he was 15 years old, is a reality star of sorts. The teen is featured with her mom, Wayne's ex-wife Antonia ("Toya") on the BET reality show 'Tiny & Toya.' The Grammy Award–winning artist also has three sons; two were born a month apart last year. Wayne fathered one of the boys with actress Lauren London and the other with singer Nivea.

According to TMZ, Brown, who is now seeking paternity, is the only name listed on the court documents. No details have been released about why Brown's daughter did not petition the court herself for Lil Wayne's DNA.
