It all started innocently enough. A precious little 3-year-old girl complains to her teacher at
Walnut Grove preschool that her teenie weenie wittle foot was hurting. The teacher then attentively tends to her needs and removes her shoe to see what the problem was.
That's when it got very tricky.
Inside the 3-year old's shoe were 17 bags of crack.
I've heard of this little piggy going to the market, but who knew it was an open-air drug market.
Police say that the bags of crack were all individually wrapped and ready for distribution.
In the police report, the child is quoted as saying, "My mommy put it in my shoes and said it was candy."
But the girl's mother told police officers that she knew nothing about the drugs.
Demare Gary (pictured), the mother's 19-year-old boyfriend, soon confessed that the drugs were his and was arrested, though police suspect the confession was made to protect the child's mother from arrest. He pleaded not guilty to child endangerment and drug trafficking charges.
Gary's lawyer, Lauren Craig Redmond, dismisses her client's confession pointing to the child's own words, which seem to implicate the Mother:
"What is clear is the child is the person who knows more than anybody else," Redmond said, adding, "the child knows better than the cops, the child knows better than the teachers. And the child clearly said that someone who was not Mr. Gary."
Though the 3-year-old was not Gary's daughter, he does have another child with the child's mother.
The girl was transported to the hospital as a precaution but is reportedly fine. It is just dumb luck that she didn't try to eat the "candy" her mother put in to her shoes.
I hope they put both of them UNDER the jail. In this country, irresponsible parenting is threatening to destroy an entire generation of children. Whether it's the boyfriend who is using a little girl's shoes as a hiding place for his stash or her mother who is allowing the processing and distribution of crack from her home, they are both guilty of being neglectful idiots who are not worthy of parenthood.

drugs and crime & they two go hand / hand .

what's sad is that you got this dumb ass mother putting drugs in her child's shoe and allowing this dumb ass low life bringing the drugs in her house.. imagine if that poor baby would've eating that shyt.. whose fault would that have been? i would lock both of them up.. when mothers allow their child's life to be put endanger due to their illegal activity then it's time for jail..

Wow, talk about the world's dumbest criminals! Why would the mother put drugs in the little girl's shoe, then make her wear it, then tell her 3yr old daughter it's candy! It's like she was trying to get caught.

It's apparent that the two adults in the childs life are caught up in the Drug War of America. The whole family needs Counseling, not Prison. Those two young people did not start this Drug War, and are just Victims. Don't just punish the little people in this Drug War, they are the ones who are suffering in the deadly war-torn streets of Drugs, Alcohol, Sex and Violence. Lets start Putting the people at the top of this Drug War in handcuffs
and plaster their pictures and names in the Media.
And those at the bottom of this Drug War Pyramid might be able to get the Psychological help they need to turn their lives around. There is a "Mental Illness Mentality" that comes with Selling and Using Drugs on the street level.

I disagree. Someone who sends a preschooler to school with drugs telling her it's candy should go to prison. She could have shared her 17 bags of 'candy' with her classmates and 17 kids could have been sent out in body bags.
It's not that hard to play by the rules. Don't tiptoe around and pretend these druggies are a bunch of victims. They're criminals and they're killing our cummunities.

Whatt!!! Get out of here with that Drug War crap. I am a black mature female who supports my race and country. But these two don't need a crutch or an excuse. This chick is going to endanger her child's life for the sake of her drug dealing boyfriend? Let's call it what it is. That's why good black citizen that try to work hard to make a living and put their kids through school and college to have a better life have to tolerate your "drug war" in their neighborhoods. The working class people work hard at their low paying jobs put their money together and buy them a little home to raise their children to have better. But you get people who want to take the short cut because they can't stand the heat of surviving out their in the real world, stuggling and enduring, so they endanger citizens and cause hostile environments.
What you want us to feel sorry for the parents and be mad at the kid for reporting that her little feet was hurting from crack being in her shoe. "Get out of here with that crap."
And I said I wasn't going to blog today. I just couldn't help myself. Black folks want to live in decent neighborhoods too.

please tell me your kidding: the parents are just victims? They are ADULTS and are responsible for their actions.
It drives me crazy when people want to coddle grown-ups and treat them like kids: these poor drug dealers, they are the victims. Let's all hug...
nonsense - they either
a) were using the girl's shoes as a way to traffic illegal drugs
b) worse, as was pointed out in another post, wanted the girl to ingest the drugs...
unfathomable that ANYONE with ANY SENSE would want to give those two criminals a pass, in the name of "counseling"...

What you are saying makes no sense because this baby could have eaten that crack. Yes put both of them in the jail, yes there is someone higher up in the drug war but they are not the ones that put the crack in the baby's shoe. It is a disgrace when a mother will endanger her child's life so put her Azz under the jail. In my hometown city a 7 year old boy was killed with his father and only because he happen to be with his dad when 2 guys came to rob him of money and drugs. Since the child knew who they were, they killed him, suffocated him. Children are dying because of dumb shtz their parens are doing in the drug world. No this didn' happen in a big city up north, it happened in Greensboro, North Carolina and it was just last month. The child's mother knew what he did and now she has to suffer for the rest of her life because she allowed her child to be in a dangerous environment. There is nothing good to say about a mother that allows this kind of behavior to be around her child. Drugs have not only destroyed black men lives but now it is killing the children. This stupid move by the mother could have caused this 3 year old to eat that crack and end up dead.
