Sarah Palin: I'd Beat President Obama In 2012 Election

Sarah Palin
isn't running for President yet, but if she does, she says she'll win.
"I believe so," the ex-Alaska Gov. told ABC News' Barbara Walters when asked if she thought she could beat Obama.

Though she lost the election to Barack Obama when paired with John McCain in 2008, Palin thinks she could win in a rematch.

"I'm looking at the lay of the land now, and...trying to figure that out, if it's a good thing for the country, for the discourse, for my family, if it's a good thing," Palin told Walters, in an interview that will air Dec. 9 as part of "10 Most Fascinating People" year-end special.
Her declaration, reported Wednesday, was largely ignored by other politicians as it comes as no surprise.

Once vague about her plans to run for president, Palin has actively ramped up her rhetoric in recent months.

She has created her own political action committee SarahPAC and has been dropping hints right and left about her wish to run.

"If there's nobody else to do it, then of course I would believe that we should do this," she told Entertainment Tonight last month.

She also confirmed her consideration of a 2012 campaign in an upcoming New York Times Magazine profile.

"I am," she told the Times, when asked if she was weighing a bid. "I'm engaged in the internal deliberations candidly, and having that discussion with my family, because my family is the most important consideration here.

A recent AP poll shows Palin to be the Polarizer-in-Chief, splitting the public with a 46 percent favorable rating to a 49% unfavorable rating.
