A Columbus, Ohio, man faces murder charges for slamming his infant son to the ground and then tossing him in a trash bin Tuesday night.
Quindell Sherman (pictured above) got into a heated argument with his girlfriend, Sonia Mitchell, 20. After punching Mitchell's mother and great-grandmother, he picked up his 3-month-old infant, Jayden Mitchell, from the home's landing and flung him 25 feet down the street. The crazed 20-year-old reportedly then ran down the street, picked up the baby by its arm and dragged him across the concrete ground.
Sherman then allegedly grabbed Jayden and held him high above his head, and with brute force, slammed him down into the ground again. Afterward, he ran with the baby and tried hiding inside a trash bin about a block away from Mitchell's home. Police found him standing on top of Jayden in the garbage receptacle.
According to Columbus Police Department reports, Jayden appeared to be severely injured and in dire need of immediate medical attention. He was immediately taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital in trauma arrest, but doctors could not save him.
Jayden was pronounced dead less than an hour later.
Apparently, Sherman and Mitchell are no strangers to domestic disputes. In January, when Mitchell was pregnant, she told police that Sherman had pushed her down, struck her then spit on her. There were no charges filed.
Mitchell was arrested for the murder, charged and arraigned in court on Thursday, where bail was set at $2.5 million.
Sherman is the perfect example for maintaining the death penalty in his state!

The mother must accept some responsibility for this happening. If he pushed her down, struck her, and spit on her while she was pregnant she knew at that moment he had a complete disregard for the life of her child. She should have put him out of her and her child's life. Interesting that a father who was hitting his wife in For Colored Girls by Tyler Perry killed his children as well to hurt the mother.

in situations of Domestic Abuse the victims are not to blame. That mother could have been dealing with psychological abuse from her boyfriend and he could have been making threats against her life or her loved one's if she tried to leave. It's not her fault

I could not agree with you more some of it is her fault because she knew what type of man or should I say (STUPID ASS FOOL) he was yet not only did you have a baby by this ASS!!! you stayed with him thoughout all of this to make it to this point the only one I feel for and sad for is that sweet baby boy I hope he get the DEATH PENALTY of what he has done and she needs her ass kicked and in jail for awhile to sit and think what she did to her own son wake up women if he don't treat you right and puts his hands on you what makes you think he won't do it to your kids no matter if there he's or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a victim of domestic violence. So please don't think I don't understand, but as I was told by the other women in my situation my child is the one I have to make the ultimate sacrifice for. I am bound as his mother to do that and lord knows I would lay down and die for him. But I'll be damN$% if I took another day of his abuse and disregard for my life and my son's life. My son is what encouraged me to walk away. I just wished that she felt the same way and maybe this would not have occured. I understand you may not agree and I respect that.

I could cry reading your comment. Thank you! for putting your child's needs above your own. We foster parented then adopted a baby who was abused (broken arm, bruises, bite marks, etc.... at 11 months) and what I find unforgiveable is the number of people who put their own needs above this defenseless child's. (Ultimately it has worked out for him and us, as I can't imagine our family life without him.) May God bless you and your family. Good things come to those who do good!!
