Mike Epps, who is known for his comedic talents in films and on stage, didn't think it was funny when a paparazzo kept annoying his wife at her birthday celebration at a Detroit club last Saturday, so he reportedly took matters into his own hands, literally!
The 'Hangover' and 'Lottery Ticket' co-star hosted a birthday dinner for his wife, Michelle, and after party for his show at Detroit's famed Key Club. A photographer allegedly kept pestering Epps' wife with questions and pictures while the couple was dining at the establishment, which is touted as "Detroit's most romantic soul food restaurant."
According to Epps who spoke to TMZ:
"It was a private celebration for my wife's birthday. I asked the photographer numerous times to not film, but he refused to let up. I then attempted to retrieve the tape from the camera."
In other words, the photographer got a beatdown. Watch what happened here.
Epps is no stranger to photographer run-ins. Just two years ago, the celeb went buckwild, when a photographer came a tad too close for comfort at LAX. Epps went on a tirade and verbally attacked the intruder by calling him practically every word for "homosexual."
Earlier that same year, Epps' fists also had a run-in with a process server.
Hell hath no fury like the invasion of a funnyman's space!

Mike has to control his emotions. The real problem for a celebrity is when no one wants your picture and there's no interest in you. Imagine, Princess Di losing her life running from a photographer? It's just a freaking picture, celebs. And by law you cannot take someone's camera equipment just because they refuse to stop taking pictures. I love Mike Epps, but he's going to lose some money here for sure. One day he is going to run into a photographer who can actually defend himself and that photographer will be the one handing out the asswhipping. It should have been me.

Kay, I said I wish it had been me because this dude has a history of trying to beat up on photographers, who are probably some of the meeker people around. These aren't tough guys posting up at a club trying to "try" somebody. These are usually nerdy dudes who aren't violent like Mr. Epps. Like I said in a previous post, the courts have said that celebrities give up a degree of privacy when they are in public. And you cannot lawfully confiscate someone's photo or video equipment. If a celeb doesn't want their picture taken, stay home. It comes with the territory, unfortunately.

Photographers sneek up on these people all of the time-look @ the lengths they'll go! Nicole Richie had to get an order of protection because they won't leave her kids alone.
"You can't be chased if you aren't running!" -you are not serious.
RIP Princess Di

Stonedog, I agree with you on this point: "when no one wants your picture and there's no interest in you". He should have graciously taken 1 picture, maybe 2 for the photog and that should have been enough. Question is, would that have been enough for the paparazzo?
