David Bahati, a religious leader and parliament member in Uganda, doesn't like gays.
In fact, he has proposed a bill in Uganda that seeks to jail people for life or even execute them if they are found to be gay.
Bahati's bigotry is cloaked by his "passion for children," which he revealed during an interview on 'The Rachel Maddow Show' this week.
In measured, conversational tones that belie his hateful message, Bahati, said that homosexuality may be a human right in many parts of the world but not considered in Uganda.
He said that gays recruit children into the lifestyle and added that 95 percent of the Ugandan population opposes the gay lifestyle.
Perhaps the most explosive charge raised by Bahati is that foreigners were coming to Uganda to recruit children into homosexuality.
When Maddow asked Bahati for evidence, he only said he had "facts" to prove his assertion and that $15 million was being spent in a campaign to fight his bill and for gay child recruitment but provided no proof.
It was a bit sad to watch Bahati duck and dodge the questions offered by Maddow with his vague non-response responses and the all-purpose reply of "we want to protect the children of Uganda."
I might give Bahati a more fair hearing if he could prove one shred of evidence that gays were actually recruiting children. If that were the case, maybe even his heavy-handed measures would be justified.
It seems that people like Bahati should have a lot of other issues to worry about in Uganda other than limiting gay rights.
In the absence of any evidence of massive gay child recruitment plots, whatever two consenting adults do in their bedroom is their business.

He's obviously got these ideas from Islam which was imposed on the population by Arab conquest. Ignorant people express ignorant ideas and ignorant people ultimately only hurt themselves. If this law were to pass, Uganda would definitely become a pariah (already is really) to western society, thus, leaving themselves open for more Arab conquest. And those Arabs will cut your nuts off and make you guard their harems. Without those nuts, you won't have to worry about sex at all.
Homosexuals have already begun recruitment of young children into the acceptance of a gay lifestyle by changing schoolbooks to promote the gay agenda. The body is not created for homosexual sex acts that is why it is abnormal.
The homosexuals stopping at nothing to impose their agenda on everyone including forcing that which is between a man and a woman, that is marriage to be applied to homosexuals, forcing those to change their beliefs in God, the God who loves everyone including sinners.
They need to be responsible for their own behavior and stop forcing this lifestyle on others. People are just getting sick and tired of this and are now in fear now that their own lives based on heterosexuality will be extinguished and that they will be forced to accommodate that which is abnormal. If you cannot accommodate their sex act into your likes and dislikes then they consider it a hate crime. In other word failing to accommodate any of their sexual interests in you or a failure or unwillingness to do so in your personal life can be now considered a hate crime.
There is strong proof that homosexuality is biologically influenced. From hetero-homo brain differences, genetics, and prenatal studies homosexuality does not seem as if it is simply a choice.
Pushing an "alternate lifestyle" onto to others starting with indoctrinating children that this is normal is wrong. Now people hate them because of this and all that follows from forcing people into a lifestyle based on an abnormal sex act.
Alcoholism can also run in families and has been explained away the same, but the practice of this lifestyle winds up affecting everyone, DUI's, affected families, people killed by drunken drivers and their families surely are not going to be receptive to genetics being the cause of their deaths on the highways as being causes by the family genetics.
Perhaps gays will see that people love them when they stop forcing their sex act agenda on others.
I can't watch a whole fifteen minutes of Super Dyke. He is right Down-Lo behavior spreads the AIDS big time. And it would be in the best interest of every one to have anal sodomy be illegal.
