Obama, who watched the Super Bowl halftime show with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, probably took note of the Black Eyed Peas switching up their lyrics to "Where is the Love?"
Obama supporter will.i.am sang: "In America we need to get things straight / Obama, let's get these kids educated / Create jobs so the country stays stimulated."
Ironically, in President Obama's White House pre-game interview with Bill O'Reilly, he talked about not being as plugged in as he would like.
"The biggest problem for me is being in the bubble," Obama said. "It's very hard to escape."
Obama might have also missed rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs -- another Obama supporter -- paving the way for will.i.am's halftime show by challenging the president to do more for blacks just last week.
"I love the president like most of us," Combs told the Source magazine. "I just want the president to do better. There's a difference between us voting for somebody and us believing in somebody. He's the person that we believed in so I pray night and day that he understands how God ordained his presidency. I feel there was a promise made to God to look after people that was less fortunate, and [some] of those people are African American.
"It's something he might not get reelected for, but we elected him. He owes us. I'd rather have a black president that was man enough to say that he was doing something for black people have one term than a president who played the politics game have two terms."
What's more, rapper Lupe Fiasco said in the same week that he did not vote for President Obama and would not in the future.
"Gaza Strip was getting burned, Obama didn't say...that's why I ain't vote for him, next one either," Fiasco raps on 'Words I Never Said.'

I think these rappers are living in a bubble. They should understand that it is going to take our President some time to turn this economy around. It's been a mess since history's recordings. These rappers send messages around to millions of listeners a day. They should be rapping about how to make a positive change afterall they have the resources and the media's attention to put an effective game plan in order. It can't always be about superficial things but reality testing the negative messages that they have already polluted our world with in every way imaginable. Collectively we can help our selves make meaningful change. Rappers would rather much open bars and lounges but not put up resources to build parks and community centers for our children in environments where they can freely learn, play and tap into their own innate gifts. So I ask you "who is really living in a bubble?" We all have a responsibility to every child breathing in our nation. Bust those bubbles and get into action. Let's stop fighting one another with drugs, wasting money (deppreciating assests)and hurtful words. Let your God like characteristics for humanity shine like the morning son and together we can brighten this nation and grow our economy. We can pray to God and give him a laundry list of our desires but prayer without action in useless. Let's put a plan into action that supports our desires the President can't do it by him self.

I hate when us as African Americans try to make it seem like we should receive special attention from Obama just because he is of African descent himself. Of course the black community is having problems, but the president can not just come in and fix every little problem we are having. If there are children who need more help in school then why cant the community come together to solve the problems. Why do we always want special treatment just because their is a face we can relate to in office. The man still has to do his job. If you haven't come to understand it yet, America will only help those whom help themselves. SO stop complaining and riding the president about it and do something yourself.

I think a big part in being an elected officer is taking care of the different components in your voting base's concerns. I don't think black people want special treatment, they just don't want to be ignored. He labored to get health care reform, and DADT repealed, and the Dream act pushed, and all issues that pertain to people other than the group of which 90% voted for him. And look, depression level unemployment for blacks (and other non-Asian, non-whites btw). Focusing on education and jobs for black people is NOT a handout.

I've said it before so I'll say it again. The only person that can help us is God. I am a huge supporter of the president and will vote for him again as well as work on his 2012 campaign. I don't expect him to open one door for me. God is the only one that can that. And if he did one thing that favored African-Americans not only would he not get re-elected but it would be a long time before another African-American man would be elected president. Now having said that, I don't think the majority of African-Americans are "expecting" him to do anything "special" for us. We understand more so than anyone else that he can't single us out for special treatment. I don't care what Diddy or members of the Black Eyed Peas say or sing about. Remember people said the same about Oprah, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, etc., etc., etc.

Politics is and has always been quid pro quo. This president is gonna flip that principle on it's head when it comes to black people. He's paid back his gay, women, latino, so-called jew voting blocks but he's ignored the black voting bloc who put him in office. He would not be president today if not for those black votes.
He's selling us out and I will not sit by idly and let that happen. I will fight it. I will not be voting for him in 2012 and he's a one-termer. It's clear he's a one-termer and sold black people down the river. That's because he doesn't like or respect black people (regardless of his wife).
I don't like rap for the most part but I do agree with Combs and BEPs on this one. BTW, I have listened to BEP music that I thought was good. Never ever listened to a Combs song that I like.

Neither Diddy nor the the Black Eye Peas are socially conscious enough for me to suggest what is politically correct.
If they can get the Repubs and their negativity out of the way, maybe I'll listen.

What do they want the man to do. He can't make companies start hiring african americans, he can't really create jobs. African Americans need to prepare themselves for what's needed to get employed. Diddy has money I don't see him employing some of the unemployed african americans, he's all about self. We have our black president and african americans are still crying about not enough is being done for them. Come up with what it is you want the President to do and see if this is something he can do. Sitting back talking about what he isn't doing is not going to change anything. It would've been worst had McCain and the bimbo got into office.
