Three 13-year-old boys admitted to police that they attacked and sexually assaulted a girl of the same age in a park playground as she walked home from school last Monday evening.
After the attack, which took place at Roosevelt Williams Park in Banning, Calif., less than a mile from the Nicolet Middle School, which all of the children attend, the young victim reported the rape to a school counselor, who then alerted local police.
The girl, who has not been identified, told police that she was walking through the park at dusk, when she came upon three male classmates (whose names are not being released due to their age).
According to police documents, the child told investigators that the boys began to fondle her, then grabbed her arms and pushed her down. One of the males proceeded to rape the girl while the others kept her from escaping.
The child identified her assailants, and Banning investigators were able to find and question all three suspects last week. All of the boys reportedly admitted to perpetrating the sexual offense, and all three were arrested and booked on suspicion of sexual assault in to Riverside Juvenile Hall.
Reportedly, one of the boys told police, he was promised an iPod if he participated in the attack, but at this point, it is undetermined if the rape was actually premeditated.
The Riverside County District Attorney's office will reportedly look into the case to decide whether the boys can be tried as adults.

I am so sorry for 13 year old girl raped by three same age boys. but She better know that she don't walk alone to home from school. I strongly suggest parents pick all young girls up from School for safe. I am very surprised about this very hardly. I hope all of parents teach young children about volience, rape, etc.

Really, are you out of your mind? "but She better know that she don't walk alone to home from school." I will not comment on the obvious but I will respond to the comment. Why she better know that? Because she was walking alone did not give those young boys the right to bother her in any shape, form, or fashion. You are pretty much telling the victim it was her fault, which it is not!

Stop blaming the victim!!! What do you mean "she better know" not to walk alone. That's her within hwe rights. You're ignorant! The only folks to be blamed for anything are those 3 boys!

HOW COULD THEY CHARGE 13 YEAR OLD BOYS AS ADULTS???
THEY ARE CHILDREN TOO!!! RAPE LAWS ARE OVERDONE
AND NEED REVISING...HOW THE HELL CAN A SUSPECT
SPEND THE SAME TIME FOR RAPE AS ONE THAT MURDERS
SOMEONE??? THESE BOYS WERE PROBABLY JUST DOING A
LITTLE SEXUAL EXPERIMENTATION AND WOULD NOT DREAM
OF RAPE AT 17 OR 18...THEY NEED COUNSELING AND
PSYCHOLOGICAL HELP, NOT TOTAL LIFE
DESTRUCTION...THE GIRL IS FINE, ALIVE, AND VAGINA
STILL WORKS....

Abraham...are u serious!!!! scars are deeper than a working vagina..Rape last a life time for many men and women It is very unfair of you to judge that way but I do not agree with charging them as adults and putting them in jail..they clearly need mental help..Our society tells young boys and girls these actions are normal..T.V. Radio non parenting all play a big part in the development of OUR childrens minds...such a sad day we live in!

I understand that you think she should not walk home from school by herself but, I think that all women no matter what their age should feel safe walking anywhere, whether they are alone or with friends.

@ Abraham
let's try three men your age doing a little "sexual experimentation" on you. then let us know if you would prefer they have "counseling and psychological help"
this liberal attitude of yours has put ALL our children at risk.
everyone that participates in "destruction" must taste of it themselves to experience and learn of justice.
stop whining for the perpetrators. they do not need sympathy or counseling. they need to be taught what they're parents neglected to teach them now.
ALL sympathy and counseling goes to the victim of this heinous act.

First of all ... she has a right to walk where ever and when ever ... next if you are going to comment please make sure that your statement that sounds coherent because the mess that you put together was a complete mess
It would be a lovely concept for all children to be transported back and forth to and from school by their parents but society does not permit that ... people have jobs that they must work.
What we need to do as a society is to become better citizens and instill better values and morals in our children
