A Boston nightclub has agreed to pay a fine, issue a public apology and have its staff attend anti-discrimination training for closing the club when a significant number of black attendees showed up, according to an agreement reached with Attorney General Martha Coakley and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination.
The agreement was based on a complaint made by a group of black Harvard graduates who had organized an event at Cure Lounge as an after-party to the Harvard and Yale football game last November.
Approximately 400 tickets were purchased before the sold-out event. But about an hour after the 10 p.m. starting time, Cure Lounge abruptly ended the event and told all guests that they needed to leave. The vast majority of event guests who stood in line and who entered the club were black, according to the complaint.
Under the agreement, which states Cure Lounge violated state laws prohibiting public places from restricting entry or limiting use based on race, gender, or national origin, the nightclub must pay a $30,000 fine to the state.
"Massachusetts businesses cannot refuse to host events because of racial reasons," Coakley said in a statement.
Coakley added, "in this case, club waitstaff made harmful and ill-conceived conclusions based on the simple fact that most of the guests were black. This type of behavior is the essence of racial stereotyping and it is a reminder that, despite the many strides we have taken, there is still progress to be made."

The US "Civil War" started by the North was NOT fought or started to end slavery. It was to literally take state's rights away from the South, including those of free commerce. The South wanted to freely trade their resources with Europe, the North wanted to make the South their captive colony, keeping the South's resources locked up for the North's industry's use at cheap prices. Slavery was a sideshow, just
another way to take the rights of the Southern state's away and give it to an all powerful federal government controlled by the more populous North. The ignorance of the US population about the true causes of the
Civil war are staggering, but not surprising, because true history is no longer taught in public schools. Instead, a politically correct re-write of history is taught.
The Sudan is another country where black-on-black slavery is rampant. But the US doesn't mention this, and blacks in America ignore it and similar slavery in Haiti, but whine incessantly about slavery from 150
years ago in the US!! What hypocrisy! And why? Because the slave masters are black in this case, so it wouldn't be politically correct to criticize them. After all, blacks are saints and can do no wrong.
"Since 1995, international rights organizations such as Human Rights Watch and CASMAS have reported that slavery in Sudan is a common fate of captives in the Second Sudanese Civil War. Pro-government militias
have been known to raid non-Muslim southern villages (particularly those of the Dinka) and loot them both for property and for slaves.[1] According to the Rift Valley Institute's Sudan Abductee Database, over
11,000 people were abducted in 20 years of slave-raiding in southern Sudan.[2] SudanActivism.com mentions that hundreds of thousands have
been abducted into slavery, fled, or are otherwise unaccounted for in a second genocide in southern Sudan.[3] According to the American Anti-Slavery Group, black Africans in southern Sudan have been abducted for centuries in the Arab slave trade, but the slave raids by militia armed by the federal government of Sudan increased significantly after the 1989 military coup led by Colonel Omar al-Bashir, who is the current President of Sudan.[4]"

BLACKS WERE SLAVEMASTERS IN AMERICA AS WELL AS WHITES!
"The fact is large numbers of free Negroes owned black slaves; in fact, in numbers disproportionate to their representation in society at large. In 1860 only a small minority of whites owned slaves. According to the U.S. census report for that last year before the
Civil War, there were nearly 27 million whites in the country. Some eight million of them lived in the slaveholding states.
The census also determined that there were fewer than 385,000 individuals who owned slaves (1). Even if all slaveholders had been white, that would amount to only 1.4 percent of whites in the country (or 4.8 percent of southern whites owning one or more slaves)."

In the interests of TRUTH TELLING, why aren't these facts publicized during Black History Month? I guess blacks love the myths about themselves, but the ugly truth is just ignored.
"According to federal census reports, on June 1, 1860 there were nearly 4.5 million Negroes in the United States, with fewer than four million of them living in the southern slaveholding states. Of the blacks residing in the South, 261,988 were not slaves. Of this number, 10,689 lived in New Orleans. The country's leading African American historian, Duke University professor John Hope Franklin, records that
in New Orleans over 3,000 free Negroes owned slaves, or 28 percent of the free Negroes in that city.
To return to the census figures quoted above, this 28 percent is certainly impressive when compared to less than 1.4 percent of all American whites and less than 4.8 percent of southern whites. The statistics show that, when free, blacks disproportionately became
slave masters."

I agree that making sure people know the truth is important. Absolutely. And I do think that to a certain extent history classes have been slanted toward the politically correct arena. That being said, there are a couple things I disagree with you about.
1st, the North was not entirely to blame. Neither was the South. The fact is that they both had issues with the other side. So maybe the North overreacted when the South seceded, but at that point neither side was willing to negotiate with one another (sound familiar?). This lack of communication and willingness to compromise (Republicans and Democrats today are in a similar position....) resulted in the Civil War. By definition, the South was not a colony (1. a body of people who settle in a country distant from their homeland but maintain ties with it
2. the community formed by such settlers
3. a subject territory occupied by a settlement from the ruling state
this does not describe the South)
Number 2, I REALLY don't like how you went and took history and threw it back at blacks. Yes, it happened. Yes, it should be remembered. But the way you took that piece of information and said that because of it they should be complaining more about Haiti? Honestly, people should be complaining about slavery in Haiti and Sudan anyway. The fact is, slavery is brutal, no matter who uses it.
So yes, truth is important. But it's also important to take it into perspective and remain unbiased.

That's very true factually! But, as usual black people don't want to hear the real truths! But, only want to continually hear what they want to hear! How can we as a people condon slavery, and at the very same time not openly discuss the reality of blacks owning other blacks?

NOT ALL OF WHAT YOU STATE IS TRUE!! AND SHOW IN PRINT WHERE ANY BLACK SLAVE OWNER RAPED FEMALE SLAVES,BEAT AND MUTILATED BOTH MALE AND FEMALE BLACK SLAVES,SOLD HIS CHILDREN TO OTHER SLAVE OWNERS,THEY WERE BY FAR MORE THOUGHTFUL AND CONCEDERATE OF THEIR SLAVES THEN THEIR WHITE COUNTERPARTS FOR SURE. THE REASON THEY OWNED THEM WAS TO GIVE THEM THEIR FREEDOM-A PAPER SHOWING THEIR FREE STATUS. THEY WERE SMART, MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR WHITE SLAVE OWNERS. THAT IS WHY WHITE OWNERS LOST THE BATTLE, ONE OF THE REASONS ANYWAY.

The first blacks to arrive in the continental U.S. were free black men, in 1513. The first slave rebellion occurred in 1526, in South Carolina. The economic foundation of this country was built with slave labor three times, before and after the Revolutionary War, and after the Civil War.
