Storms claims that he was just having lunch in Lafreniere Park in his van when he decided to relieve himself in a bottle instead of going to the bathroom. However, two women claim that they saw Storms through the open windows of his van and that he was masturbating while watching young children. The ladies got the attention of an officer, who then had Storms arrested. His bail was set at $5,000, but he was released due to jail overcrowding.
In an effort to stop Southern Decadence, Pastor Storms actually videotaped public sex acts and showed them to legislators. "There's no economic gain that justifies an orgy in the streets," Storms said. "That's all it is -- a three-day orgy in the streets."
In his fervent push against gay rights, Pastor Storms has been accused of advocating violence against the homosexual community. Storms gave a 2003 speech to Wisconsin Christians United in which he allegedly simulated the murder of gay people. In a recording of his speech, Storms made sounds like gunfire, as if to shoot homosexuals. "God has delivered them into our hands. Boom boom boom ... there's twenty! Ca-ching! Glory, glory to god," he said.
The Grant Storms story is honestly nothing new. The legend of the hypocritical pastor is old news by now, as we've all come to see pastors across the country who seek to condemn the same temptations that exist within the depths of their very own souls. I don't doubt that Pastor Grant really does have a problem with homosexuality, in large part because this may represent the part of himself that he hates the most.
What must also be made clear, however, is that homosexuality should not be implied to be directly connected to pedophilia. The latter is a serious and dangerous crime that affects far too many children, and we cannot lay the burden of child molestation on the back of the gay community. We should also know that Pastor Grant is innocent until proven guilty, for right now, it's his word against the witnesses in this crime.
One thing to walk away with after seeing this case (as well as many others we've written about on BV regarding pastors behaving badly) is that there may come a time when the black community will have to seriously deal with the homophobia within our churches. By working overtime to chastise those who are different, we are not only in violation of the religious principles we profess to believe, we are also pushing otherwise productive, law-abiding citizens deeper into an underworld of dangerous sexual deviance. While I don't think that the HIV epidemic is driven entirely by the brothers on the downlow, I would expect that there would be less men hiding their true sexual orientation if we didn't make it so difficult for them to be honest.

Hello. Thank you for an intelligent article. I know this man personally, it is distressing news.
Many people have already made up their minds, but I am waiting for more information. The media prints all kinds of stuff and misquotes and even makes up quotes. But then, they may have printed the entire truth, I don't know.
I do know one particular mistruth. grant Storms was not the one who videotaped activities going on during Southern Decadence. That was taped by another gentleman, who I have known for about 15-16 years. He was crossing St. Ann street in the middle of the day with friends who were visiting him and was shocked to see what was going on there. So, he went back and filmed it and submitted it to the Mayor. The mayor was attentive until a certain opposing group began slandering my friend and some others. One of the slanders was that he paid some guys to perform in front of the camera so that he could use it against the homosexuals in the city. I honestly don't know where people come up with this stuff.
Grant may have backed him up, but he was the one who went and did the filming, not Grant.
If he is guilty, then he should be punished by the law. But if he is not guilty, then people are going to either be ashamed for how easily they were willing to slander him or they will still believe he was guilty anyway.

My heart beat is for those in the body of Christ who knows and understand the teaching of our Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ; along with our brother in Christ the Apostle Paul that no matter what we think or feel about homosexuality it is already written in scripture point blank read it for yourself, you don't need to draw your own conclusion it is written forever, and settle in heaven: With that said both Jesus, and his disciples both said that there will be wolves in sheep clothing, yet we continue to say that ungodly men that ware the title of those holding office in the church are what, and who they say they are; but it is plain, Jesus said that there would be wolves in sheep clothing, this man and those like him is as plain as the nose on our faces, they are just what Jesus called them sheep in wolves clothing yet we say they are men of God but they are not. They are not, and were not called by God, no matter how many fellowers, good works, deeds of righteousness they may do. They don't need prayer, sympathy, or mercy they are of the devil satan, and have been sent by him to deceive. They will always be on the seen until Jesus comes, Paul says that Satan have transformed himself into an angel of light (a fellow of the Lord Jesus Christ). We must be holy it is a requirement in order to be a believer, and fellower of Christ.

You know, I understand where you are coming from ... but I also understand this. That we are human beings ... subject to the same evil as anyone else. We have a war going on within ourselves, daily. That is the war between doing right and doing wrong. Every person living has the ability within us to do horrible, evil acts ... we choose daily, minute by minute whether or not to yeild to that.
It's not about being a wolf in sheeps clothing, but about temptation, and about how to avoid it.
Obviously if I sit in a bar every night, exposing myself to things that will lead me to do things I otherwise wouldn't do ...I will naturally allow myself to do those things.
He withdrew from his fellowship, he allowed himself to be exposed to pornography and his path went downhill from there. It's a slow path to degradation, to perversion.
He chose it, but that doesn't make him a wolf. That makes him a man with a problem.
It's good for him and for everyone all around that this happened to him because maybe this will be the catalyst that will bring him back around again.
But it's like Yeshua said, you get rid of one demon and if you don't replace that with Godly things, then that demon comes back with 7 others. meaning, you expel the perverted and depraved inclinations from your thoughts, you soul ... you have to replace them with Godly thoughts, Godly acts or they will return double what they were to begin with.

I've found some of the biggest freaks are pastors or so called Pastors. Remember, they are people just like everyone else. Lust has no Morals!

When someone speaks out against an issue or a group so violently they are typically associated with the group and/or issue behind closed doors.
He is a freak, but not the kind I would want in my bedroom.

Paul said "I fear at my departure grieves wolves would come in" he also said that satan has changed himself into an angel of light" all of which means yes of course they would be fakes, but heres my problem please don't just look at them as just another person no they are claiming to be called of God; born again, God seekers so they are not the same in God's eyes: When we give our lives to God as minister of the Gospel we don't look at ourselves as the norm, we believe in the power of the holy ghost to help keep us from lust because that is required by God!

1. If you are molesting someone that's the same gender you are- you're gay. 2. As far as "violating the religious principals we profess to believe in"- the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is WRONG. Thats right- the BIBLE, as in the book that holds the principals we believe in. If the book we agree to be the Word of God says something is wrong- then it's wrong. If you won't allow drinking, smoking, fornication, and other things that the Bible says is wrong to go on in the church, then you shouldn't allow homosexuality to go on in the church- because the BIBLE, which we seem to agree is the Word of God, says it's wrong.
