A live radio broadcast from Pittsburgh featuring controversial Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan will go on as scheduled Friday, despite the withdrawal of a key panel member, the organizer said.
Host Bev Smith blamed Jewish and white Christian organizations for the decision of Melanie Campbell, CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, to withdraw from the program that includes Farrakhan and U.S. Rep. Jim Clyburn, a South Carolina Democrat. One group Smith cited denied any involvement.
Campbell told organizers she feared she would lose funding if she appeared with Farrakhan, said Smith, a nationally syndicated radio talk show host. Smith worked with Farrakhan during his Million Man March in Washington in 1995.
Farrakhan, 77, of Chicago, took his campaign of anti-Semitism to new levels over the past two years, said Oren Segal, director of the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism in New York.
"The problem is, he still attracts thousands of people to these events," Segal said. "Anytime messages of hate are heard like that, it's a concern."

Campbell is a Washington-based national civil rights leader who works on youth leadership programs, grassroots organizing and issues affecting women and girls. She could not be reached.
"One of the beauties of America is that free speech is protected," said Clyburn, the third-ranking Democrat in the House. "Although I had no idea who all the participants in this program were until yesterday, I look forward to an open and civil discussion at the forum. I will be representing my views and will not hesitate to express and defend my convictions, which are grounded in the Judeo-Christian doctrines I practice."
The radio broadcast is the second in a series of programs about challenges facing predominantly black communities. It will air live at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh on WGBN 1150 AM and on the station's Website.
Smith, who lives downtown, titled the town hall-style meeting "The Disappearing Black Community and How We Can Get it Back." The center gave away tickets to fill the 486-seat auditorium and an overflow room.
"It's un-Christianlike not to talk to other people," Smith said. "My pain is that she had to be forced into this."
Smith said the Jewish Chronicle, a Pittsburgh publication, and Christian Associates of Southwest Pennsylvania were among those opposed to her program.
The Jewish Chronicle, which has called Farrakhan a "rabid anti-Semite," spoke against his appearance in a recent editorial. Chronicle Executive Editor Lee Chottiner declined to comment.

Well, she probably would lost the funding! But, that's because black people still haven't yet learned "not" to depend on others, or their money! And, until we as a people really are independent, then nothing in reality will ever change! I was raised in Pittsburgh, and it's one of the most racist city in this country! It always has been, and the black people that still reside there know exactly what I'm talking about! Also, in both fact, and reality the black community, and that Jewish community has always been divided there! Because they maintain that all too well know "tenant/ manger" historical relationship. Also, black people have no real political, nor economic power inn that city! They never have, and if its up to white people, Jews or whomever ...they never will! I left Pittsburgh ten days after securing the first of my three degrees from Pitt, and haven't looked back since!

"I was raised in Pittsburgh, and it's one of the most racist city in this country!"
We hear that same refrain about every city and hamlet across America. Let's face it! All over this country, we encounter the most racist, viscious creatures know to mankind!!Some claim to be joos, others claim to be of a superior species, because of their thin hair, blue-eyes, narrow-pointed nose, thin lips and a flat rump! Then, their are others claiming to be the master race and rulers of the universe because they control diabolical weapons of mass destruction and spy rings!
But the voices of civility, providence and courage are to be found within the graceous likes of a delicate belle..Bev Smith!!!!!!!!
Bev Smith is a gentle lamb of God, exposing the Zionist entity and it's substructure that's seeks to economically and academically enslave God's children, while employing/tricking us into fighting their wars against our Muslim brothers for their natural resources, freedom and rights to self determination! Allah-Akbar!!!!!!!!Down with American jew imposters! They cannot prove a blood connection to the Jews of the Bible!!!!!!!!They are the children of the devil(John 8:44)

Minister Farrakhan speaks about the very same people who would rather worry about their sponsors, than to worry about the conditions of their people. Besides, if their "sponsors" were doing such a great job (besides giving her money) for Ms. Campbell and Co., why are they convening this panel? Seems to me that they need to go to Plan-B.
Btw, I see the author said, "the center GAVE away tickets to fill the 486-seat auditorium."
Hmmmm... There are TWO other web-sites that said they were 'sold out.' It was said that, "a new area had to be opened up in order to accommodate more people." It's funny, I have never seen an event were Minister Farrakhan couldn't draw 486 people. Something is misleading about this article......lately, this site!

I completely agree about the tickets! But you have to understand that this is BV's, and the creditability of the reporting is sadly always in question as it relates to the facts! I had the opportunity to see Minister Farrakhan three times over the years, in Los Angeles, Oakland, and in New York, and he always had "standing room only" crowds. I actually meet the Minister while attending the University of Pittsburgh as an undergrad, he was a common site at the Student Union back in those days! As for the tickets in Pittsburgh I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did in fact give them away! Because the general black population there remains "in their place".and to get them to attend they'd have to give the tickets away! That's also why blacks in Pittsburgh continue to not have any political power.

Funny Michael would say that about a Farrakhan audience.... There's not a venue you'd rarely see where minister Farrakhan doesn't fill to capacity... I suggest mike browse the internet to see the error with his "drive-by" critiques... The thing about Farrakhan's speeches, when their taken to "task" and the facts are researched the details reveal what documents and historians have long since indicated as actual events... Believe they've tried to get him slipping on the facts., When that fails the media tags him with the boogeyman title and the gullible "lynch mobbers" start shooting from the hip at the mention of his name... Another point is Americans sheepishly have rationed their views and opinions based on controlled media propaganda.., Anytime we're hearing government (intentially)suppressing a Abu Ghraib story 5 mos before it goes national, Or a Dallas police brutality story covered by local news suppress to elude public outrage... Wisconsin has taught us alot about having "key people" in positions at suspect moments of occuring events.., Like the Florida "hanging chad" controversy, where key people were in place... Like the convenient video tape of the Afghanistan cabinet members, said to be in celebration for the WTC bombings, more than two years after the fact... It's the gullible people who time after time who give the profiteers blind compliance to keep the truth concealed, to constantly project boogeymen... For instance denial of funding research for alternative energy to ween from natural oil energy...
