From the Detroit News:
Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, released from state prison this morning after serving 14 months, vowed to come back to Detroit to tell his story.
"Detroit, I will return to speak frankly with you about this experience because it has affected all of us," Kilpatrick said in a released statement. "I am beginning anew. I am looking forward. I have new dreams and aspirations. I have a new hope. My greatest desire is that my testimony will give anyone who will listen permission to dream of greatness and to push toward it even in the midst of failure.

B.S. He had his day in court to tell his story and we know it all....He needs to stay away from Detroit. He was in a position to really help the city and he betrayed the trust of the black community forever cementing the racist sentiment that exists in the tri-county area of SE Michigan. If he shows up in Detroit, Dave Bing should run his AZZ out of town with a 2 x 4! Enough is enough, he has a family to see to, so go somewhere else to start "fresh"...Detroit needs a fair shot and a brighter future.....Kilpatrick nor his corrupt political family have benefited the black community - an utter disgrace!

All of God's people are given additional chances. Check the history of mankind. Are we better than God Almighty? Well I am not better than God Almighty who said we have power on earth to forgive sin. Brother you are forgiven and the entire Universe in a part of this forgiving process.

He's going to return to Detroit for what? To take more or to spend the money he's already taken and recieved interest on for the past 14 months. It's thinking like this that re-elected Marion Barry in D.C., and that was a joke. I figure that this guy has read Marion Barry's book and will try to make a comeback. If he get's voted back in, then this one is on you Detroit and what you get, you get.... It amazes me that people on here are wishing this guy "the best". That was his problem, he wanted "the best" and he "used" Detroit to get it. Come to think of it, it may be wrong to even compare this guy to Barry, at least Barry took care of business first, whereas this guy took his first and to hell with business...

He should repent and ask for forgiveness from God, FIRST, then ask the hard-working people of this great city who elected him, twice, by the way, to be the Mayor, not a “hip-hop” Mayor or a “playa”.
He's has had a lot of time to think about what he did. . . .think about how he's going to make restitution to the citizens of this great city.
He had potential, but he squandered it. How can you educate yourself to be an attorney, swear to uphold the law, and then, lie under oath?
What he has done to this city, with his political antics, has set it back 50 years. Any success he claims has been at the expense of the taxpayers and on the coat sleeves of his predecessors.
When one looks back on the history of this great City of Detroit, there will be a big, black hole with Kwame Kilpatrick’s name on it.
How nice it would have been for him to set a benchmark for young people, especially young men.
So many gifted, talented, and educated young people got caught up in this mess with him and their futures are altered because of it.
The carnage from this situation is too numerous to mention in this forum, but, I hope women have learned a lesson from this, too. Stop letting men throw you “under the bus”.

@ Prosperity, Mrs. H, Israline...
Why do inject God into this conversation? He {Kilpatrick} knew what he was doing when he was Mayor of Detroit. His mother is also a polictican in the Detroit area and they just treated Detroit like it was their kingdom. He has to answer for his actions and pay the consequences. enough of this nonsense.
Here in the DC area - when MAyor Marion Barry was arrested for cocaine on National TV, sentenced to jail, released and ran for Mayor of DC and won. What type of message does this send? He then sought not to seek re-election as Mayor but later decided to run as a councilman in ward 8 and won. And quess what? He still gets into trouble. Arrested for cocaine, investigated for giving his girlfriend a city contract, his son arrested for drugs charges. The point is people like Marion Barry and Kilpatrick don't chnage. Why put them back in a public position of power?

Hooray, that the boards no longer exist! Which personally to me is the best thing that's ever happened to BV's! Which personally to me is the best thing that's ever happened to BV's! Now, we don't have to read the usual Black BS, and nonsense! Nor, also have to be subjected to those moderators that were nothing but a bunch of bitter, angry black women that were in denial, and closed minded. I hope that black people have "finally" learned that BV's doesn't belong to them! It's all about ownership, not one's skin color! This is a milestone day! AMEN!

@ Eric....I agree. The boards have the same old topics usually by the same posters - sometimes under a different heading /topic. All these posters want to do is to vent their poor choices /decisions onto these boards and with very little intelligent conversation.
Nad most don't even know that BV is own by Time Warner..therfore it is not a black run site.
