Yesterday, we told you the gruesome story of how a NJ hospital disposed of a deceased baby in the trash. Well now, the story has taken a sad turn.

It was announced Wednesday night that the search for the remains of a Jersey City baby has moved to Kentucky, but police fear that the corpse has already been incinerated. Details

Please read below to get the full story of this horrifying tale.

We've all heard about medical mistakes before but what happened to one mother in New Jersey is beyond comprehension. Kaylnn Moore told reporters in New York yesterday that when she went into labor a month early on December 21, doctors at Christ Hospital in Jersey decided to do a C-section.

But instead of getting her Christmas miracle, a healthy baby boy named Bashir, Moore's son was stillborn. Devastated, the young mother left her baby's remains in the care of the hospital and went home. When she came back to claim him, the hospital couldn't find his body. That's right, you heard me, the Christ Hospital claimed it couldn't find Bashir. ...

At high noon January 20, Barack Obama will become the 44th President of the United States. Cognizant of its significance, Obama's embracing the monumental occasion by choosing to place his right hand atop the same Bible Abraham Lincoln used. Even more moving is that the entire event will happen on the stairs constructed from stones laid by slaves.

A record number of Americans are expected to be on hand in the nation's capital to witness Obama's swearing in. They'll be ready to party before and after this historic event.

Black Voices has compiled a list of some of the hottest parties, formal balls and black-tie galas around the capital. We can't get you a ticket (some cost $1,500) but we can tell you the chances of getting in! Where are the celebrities going to be? We let ya know. ...

Here is a news flash: There are virtually no black "faces" on prime time network television. "Girlfriends" was one of the last long-running black show on TV when it vanished suddenly from the airwaves.

Quick, try this, name a "black" show that is not currently on the CW on Friday night (meaning 'Everybody Hates Chris,' 'The Game'), which I might add is a virtual death sentence for any TV show. I bet you can't.

Well now, the new NAACP president is going to do something about it in a new report called, "Out of Focus, Out of Sync-Take 4"

"At a time when the country is excited about the election of the first African American president in U.S. history," said Benjamin Todd Jealous, who was appointed in May to head the civil rights organization, "it is unthinkable that minorities would be so grossly underrepresented on broadcast television."

Currently, there are only three shows on prime time network television that have minorities in the leading roles: 'CSI,' 'The Unit,' and 'Ugly Betty.'

Jealous has promised to "bring the hammer down" on those who individuals who don't bring about diversity, including political sanctions.

Personally, I find it hard to believe that diversity will improve on television considering the batch of new shows for the Fall 2008 season have all pretty much flopped. They also did not feature many people of color. Additionally, NBC is going to go to a two-hour prime time format next fall, limiting the number of shows available.

Take solace though: ' The Cleveland Show' is an animated black series from the producers of 'Family Guy' coming on Fox in January. However, I wonder if the politically-incorrect humor will sit well with black folks.

Until we finance our own programming in prime time or get more black execs at studios, I don't see this trend changing anytime soon.

What do you think?

On Sunday, President George W. Bush got a somewhat "unwarm" welcome during his unannounced visit to Iraq.

Bush got a size-10 reminder of the intense opposition to his policies when a man threw two shoes at him - one after another - during a news conference with Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. "This is the end!" shouted the man, later identified as Muntadar al-Zeidi, a correspondent for Al-Baghdadia television, an Iraqi-owned station based in Cairo, Egypt.

Bush ducked both throws and neither leader was hit.

You have to admit this Iraqi journalist was BOLD. And whether you agree or disagree with him, you have to acknowledge his tenacity for getting his point across. Not only did he throw one shoe, but then bent down and threw another.

If you throw both shoes, what will you wear home once you are escorted out of the press conference?

Well not really.

But Sunday services at one of the largest churches in Detroit took a seemingly unholy turn this weekend. As the congregation at Greater Grace Temple offered up prayers for Congress to bail out the struggling auto industry, they did so with sports utility vehicles at the altar; that's right, these giant gas guzzling vehicles were parked inside.

However, the pastor says there was a compelling reason to take such an extreme step. "We have never seen a midnight hour as we face this week," the Rev. Charles Ellis told several thousand congregants at the rousing. "This week, lives are hanging above an abyss of uncertainty as both houses of Congress decide whether to extend a helping hand." ...

The tragic and public death of teenager Abraham Biggs brings to light two social phenomena that continue to be poorly understood: the threat of suicide and how to prevent it; as well as the so-called bystander effect, which is exaggerated by the detached nature of communication via the Internet. Suicide is often used as a cry for help -- a call to put an end to intolerable emotional pain.

Many might see those who talk about killing themselves as just crying wolf, but there is a clear way to differentiate between those who truly intend to follow through from those who haven't reached that breaking point.

Biggs had a plan: a well thought out, calculated strategy carried out in front of a wide online audience. A professional would have known that his suicide letter posted on another site, a Webcam set up and history of depression were clear indications that he meant business.

Unfortunately, the basics of suicide prevention aren't common knowledge to enough members of the public.

Often times we see ourselves as being helpless to influence someone in such dire need of help. However, asking the simple question, "Do you have a plan?" can save someone's life. Anyone planning suicide needs swift and professional help and should be under that kind of care until they can be stabilized....

Since election night a few weeks ago, the passing of Proposition 8 in California--legislation that bans gay marriage--has become a hot-button issue among blacks, whites, Hispanics, etc... The reason: many Americans believe that freedom for all means the ability to marriage whoever you love, regardless of the gender. Others disagree.

Where do you stand?

Simply put, Black Voices wants to know if you are for or against gay marriage.

Let us hear your voices. Please take the time to vote in our polls and then let your voice be heard in the comment box below or continue the discussion in our message boards.

History was made this week with one of the most important elections in our nation's history. It proved the power of voting and that true democracy means exercising the power of the vote. On that note, BlackVoices also wants your vote. Each week we compile a list of individuals (some famous and some not) that we think have wielded power in their own fields that week.

Since you may disagree with some of our rankings, we decided to make the Power List interactive -- so you can tell us how you'd rank our choices. Check out the "This Week's List" to the right of this posting.

Aside from the historic election of the first black president, British Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton is now a world champion. Last Sunday Hamilton came in fifth place at the Brazilian Grand Prix securing the world champion title making the youngest to ever win it and the only Black man to ever hold the title.

Michelle Obama will soon be the first lady of the United States. Enough said. That's power right there. (Her husband made last week's list.)

David Alan Grier, a comedian, is starring in the new Comedy show on Comedy Central called "Chocolate News." What do you think of it? Samuel L. Jackson is staring alongside the late Bernie Mac in the new comedy movie 'Soul Men.' Jackson obviously has the power and Hollywood juice to be in every single move that comes out, ever.

You might not know Cynthia McKinney, but she is the leader of the Green Party and presidential candidate in this year's election and a powerful female political figure of the future. We want to give her props for going against Barack, despite being overshadowed and hanging in there to the end.

More than 200 years since the end of slavery, 40 years after the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr., and decades after the end of the civil rights movement, the Moment is here: a time when black men will no longer be subjugated, dehumanized, or seen as inferior in this society; that's because America has elected its first African American president.

PINCH YOURSELF! YES, IT'S REAL! Barack Obama has been chosen as the new president of the United States!

After centuries of oppression, pain and struggle, a black man will now be the most powerful man in the free world. He has persevered, he has been slandered and tested, but now his time has come.

From the shackles of the pre-Civil War era, to the lynchings of 1900's and early 20th Century, to the hoses of the 1960's, African Americans have been persecuted in this country -- but no more. Ladies and Gentleman, the dream has been fulfilled! As Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had hoped, a black person has finally been judged by the content of his character rather than the color of his skin.

This achievement comes despite all of the inner turmoil within the African American community, negative media coverage, and breakdown of our families. WE HAVE OVERCOME and somewhere our ancestors are smiling.

Yet, let us not forget: there is still work to be done. President-elect Barack Obama can't change the country or the world alone. We do have to do our part, which means repairing the strife in our community, rebuilding our neighborhoods, educating our children, and making sure that our young men take responsibility for the children they create.

However, now we can do so knowing that anything we want to do can be done if we work, believe, and band together.

My people, we are all part of history and we will forever be known as the generation of African Americans who helped elect a black man to the nation's highest office and gave our people the hope they so desperately needed.
