With the 100-day benchmark long gone and people fully entrenched in the political realities of the time, one thing that's still going strong is the everlasting appeal of America's First Family. We have been inundated with Obama fever for months now, and there seems to be no cure in sight. So of course it would only make sense that a major network would provide the American people with an incentive to quench their thirst for all things Obama.

Tonight and tomorrow night at 9 pm, NBC will be airing, "Inside The Obama White House," a look at the inner-workings of the president and his family. Don't even try to act like you're not curious to find out what goes down inside the White House, you know you are... you can't help it.

In a rehash of a tasteless and ignorant sentiment shared by few Americans, a Canadian comedy program, shown on the French-language Radio-Canada network, recently came under fire for joking about the possible assassination of President Barack Obama. Oddly enough, the show ("Bye-Bye 2008") took place on New Year's Eve, nearly six months ago. But due to hundreds of complaints, something is finally being done about it.

The radio segment featured a slew of offensive statements in which the hosts seemed to revel in their own banter. At one point, one of the hosts stated, "We're not racists. It will be good to have a Negro in the White House. It will be practical. Black on white, it will be easier to shoot him."

To its credit, the Canadian Broadcasting Standards Council said it found, "nothing redeeming in the allegedly comedic notion that an American president should be shot, still less that this would be easier to achieve because of the color of the president's skin. It was a disturbing, wounding, abusive racial comment."

On another segment of the show, an Obama impersonator was featured in a faux interview in which the host said, "The blacks, you all look alike," and then warned viewers to hide their purses.

Rush Limbaugh is as consistent as a disease.

One of his most recent rants was against Ebony magazine Senior Editor Kevin Chappell.

At first, Limbaugh insults Ebony by calling it a pop-culture magazine, and then he insults a reporter asking about a statistic citing that 1 in 50 children are homeless, calling it bogus.

But the piece de resistance comes when Rush then decides that Obama is heartless for decreasing charitable donations if the bogus statistics are legitimate.

It has been discussed in the black community for decades, but often has been more talk than action.

One family is out to change that. Buying black is exactly what they are doing -- for a whole year no less.

Since Jan. 1, the Anderson family has been committed to singularly patronizing only black businesses in what they call "The Ebony Experiment."

"We will prove that we have everything we need to maximize our community's potential – if we just learn to strategically and seriously support our own strengths." - John C. Anderson

Repubs sure seem to be having a tough time proving Rahm Emanuel wrong.

Hot off his decidedly unwise groveling to the indomitably obnoxious gasbag often referred to as Rush Limbaugh, newly minted Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is, not surprisingly, dealing with backlash. And it sure didn't take long, as Steele was already feeling heat from Dr. Ada Fisher, North Carolina's national committeewoman and one of only three black members on the national committee.

According to The Hill, in an e-mail to fellow members of the RNC, Fisher stated...

"I don't want to hear anymore [sic] language trying to be cool about the bling in the stimulus package or appealing to D.L. Hughley and blacks in a way that isn't going to win us any votes and makes us frankly appear to many blacks as quite foolish," Fisher wrote.

The LAPD is staking it's claim as the most inept police department in the country.

In nearly two decades, 11 or more people have been murdered by the same man, with the police department nearly powerless to stop it.

Recently, an emergency call from 1987 was released in hopes of getting a lead on L.A.'s most notorious serial killer, dubbed the "grim sleeper" for the significant time lapse in between his killings. The killer has been at large since 1985, despite a $500,000 reward and samples of his DNA on file. As far as the police know, all of his victims have been black.

So what's taking so long? ...

Murderer on the Loose

On Wednesday, police in Los Angeles released a 1987 emergency call in the hopes of finding an elusive serial killer known as the "Grim Sleeper." The two-minute call was made by a man who told police he saw a blue-and-white van dump the body of 23-year-old Barbara Ware, seen above.

Ware, who had a history of prostitution, was found shot to death in a South Los Angeles alley. Here, from left, Captain Denis Cremins, Detective Dennis Kilcoyne and Chief William Bratton stand behind a photo of the van described in the call.

The man on the call gave the license plate number of the van and police eventually located the vehicle at a church. "Then the trail stops there," said Kilcoyne. "It sounds like it was a pretty good road map for the investigation at the time and it just fizzled out." Here, a billboard advertises a reward for information on the killer, who has murdered at least 11 times in nearly a quarter century.

Journalists gather near a reward poster displaying some of the killer's victims. Kilcoyne and his men hope to track down former churchgoers or even someone who knows the voice on the emergency call. "We still have no idea who this guy is," Kilcoyne said. "We've got a half-million-dollar reward out there on billboards and no one calls." (Source: AP)

Apparently someone forgot to give white people the memo that this isn't 1960 and black folks don't like racist jokes. If you need further proof that America isn't as post racial as some would like to think, then look no further than the bevy of individuals in the short span since President Obama has been elected who have shown their asses when they thought black folks weren't looking.

While that nouveau feeling of having a black president lingers just a bit longer, the bigots have been expressing themselves the best that they can in a country that more than ever would frown upon their nonsense. The groundswell of incidents which have involved tasteless jokes about President Obama are sadly to be expected. But it's telling that the only form of insult that many can muster has to be centered around race. Using race plays into the most base form of black-white relations and it is also the most familiar deviation amongst Americans.

There were mountains of jokes around former President Bush's ineptitude, but it was never anything to bat an eye at. President Obama presents an uncomfortable paradox and climatic shift in dynamics which the bigot is ill-prepared to deal with.

I saw this a few weeks ago, and I just had to post it. The video has a great message, but the funniest part has to be the brother's exaggerated movements. I nearly died around the 7 second mark at his face. Tell me that isn't the funniet face you have ever seen!

Chalk this up to residual Obamamania or the list of ideas that probably shouldn't see the light of day.

Given that we live in an age where anything can be made into a viral video, I give you President Please! -- the movement to replace the n-word with the word president.

I'm not even sure where to begin with this one. On one hand, there is always the positive aspect of trying to find alternatives to using the n-word, but on the flip side, it equates the word to the president. Despite the proclamations that the word now has positive connotations, the issue has always been about it's negative origins.

But, I won't lie. I was dying at the fake news overlays and at the dude who says he can't rhyme anything with president. It's okay to laugh. ...

Alan Keyes is out of his natural mind. The man is a certifiable lunatic and it's a wonder that he's even remotely relevant in politics. Since the election of President Obama, Keyes has maintained an unending vigilance to denouncing his qualifications.

But it's not the statements that are so mind-boggling as it is the serious fervor with which he seems so convinced. There's a reason why Keyes and those of his ilk are relegated to the fringes of politics...
